I have... for my uncle, my great grandmother, and other people from my church... but none were depressing. Since all the people I mentioned were Christian, their funerals were times to mourn the fact we can't be with them for a while, but were also celebrations of the life into which they've passed. They were sad, but not so far as depressing.

I went to a funeral, well more of a memorial service, for a high school friend who went missing in the mountains of Washington state. He went up for a 3-4 day hike by himself. They never found his body, only his belongings and little camp he set up. He was 22 at the time... talk about depresssing

I've only ever been to one funeral,which was for my Grandpa. It was the same day as my little sister's birthday and I had to take her to a Carrie Underwood concert afterwards. It was awful, but I'm glad I went, no matter how painful it was.
