Goldeneye 007 remake announced for Wii at E3

Well this is interesting news apparently Nintendo is remaking Goldeneye. Here's the catch, its not starring the original bond from Goldeneye named Pierce Brosnan instead it revolves around the likeness of Daniel Craig.
Personally, way to trash the original. This in my opinion is rude to throw Pierce out of the picture when it was specifically made for him and his bond movie Goldeneye. What do you think? I expected more yes...
Personally, I don't think the magic of the original will be recaptured. I'll just come out and say it, the graphics look bad, even for a Wii game. Now don't hammer me about the whole graphics don't matter thing, I also live by that rule. However, I think this game will have to deliver more than the same old thing we saw on the N64, and slightly improved graphics. Then again, I have not played it, and only time will tell... Wow, almost sounds like a joke doesn't it? I can't imagine this game getting much attention at all, so switching the character to the modern franchise leading-man isn't really all that helpful in the advertising department (I'm going to assume thats why it's being done).
As for the game... I played the Perfect Dark port that came to XBL and it was god awful. If you've been locked away playing old school games for the past 15 years it's one thing, but these older games (Goldeneye especially) just don't hold up well with all the advances made to the genre. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of all games, and I have hundreds of hours of Goldeneye 64 clocked with my friends but... some things are best left in your memory. As for the game... I have to agree with you all here... I was excited for a minute about recapturing some of my youth playing goldeneye multiplayer but then I actually saw the trailer and was really dissapointed. It seems they are trying to go for super nostalgic! The graphics still look pretty much the same like they did on the N64 and changing Bonds to Daniel Craig is a real let down. I think I will just watch and see how this one develops before rushing out to buy it. -------------------- |

Oh god. *facepalm*. I hope they don't make it worse, it was the best shooting game of my time. I hope it doesn't go interactive...

I'm afraid all Nintendo wants these days is money. If that were not the case they would not have remade this classic game into a joke. They could have just upgraded the graphics but nooooo they had to go out of there way to replace bond with a blond

I wouldn't mind it if they did the same thing they did with the Perfect Dark remake. Just redo the graphics (which aren't all that bad looking in my opinion) and not to much else. Keep all the mechanics of the original, don't add to many new features. I really don't care if it meets today's standards for a fps. You don't mess with classics like this I'll probably just stick with the original N64 game (which I still play).
If I've said it once I'll say it again: Nintendo...go to hell.
