I picture myself working for Nintendo/Square Enix, and getting chunk loads of cash. When I have about 40,000,000 worth of dollars (I bet working for Nintendo/Square Enix pays a lot), I will donate about 10 million of that to Vizzed, to show my appreciation.

First of all, you need to be a prodigy in Math to be a programmer for those companies. Second of all, work your way up in the industry just don't work for your dream company because they will often demand the best workers and the best artists to work on their games which was the exact same Disney did back in the 40's or 50's. Not to be rude, but you're 11 you gotta let your other dreams out as a backup plan if you never get into those companies. I always wanted to be a game designer, but that path changed and I wanted to be a film director and honestly? That path will change in the future.

Hmm it's too difficult to achieve your dreem work, as xfighter said.
Although I think that it's too early for that and too arduous as a job, I wish you all the best about your future career, even if it will not be as cool as you wish right now

It is good to set goals for yourself; I wish you the best in reaching your goals. I don’t know much about how video games are made but if you have the background and the determination go for it… It may not always be easy but believe me when you get to a place where you feel satisfied in what you have accomplished that is something that will always be for you and no one can say you didn’t earn it at that point.

If your already programming your on your way kid. If not, I'd start soon. It a sweet dream and don't be put off by thing like it's difficult, or you need to be a prodigy to do that. Attitude and motivation can get you far in life.

Wow i would have to say that some people on here give some really great advice. And im gonna have to agree, if you set your mind to something, no matter how hard or strenuous it may turn out to be...if you work for it..dreams do come true. Yeah your gonna need to be smart and no its not gonna be easy in the least but its a fantastic goal to set for yourself. Setting goals shows self motivation and the confidence to succeed and thats all you need in life.

You know right now I'm working on learning to become a VG programmer/designer. I'm reading a lot about prograqming and flash as well as other languages. look online for c++ and java to get started, and Im'm sure you could get a decent free compiler. Whats nice about it is it's virtually recession proof and is one of the fastest growing job markets. I'm sorry about such a long post but I hope my advice could help. I fell the same way you do, except I'm in Highschool and it's really catching up on me.

Those numbers seem a bit high but I don't really know the business much I do know that Nintendo does make a ton of money though. But the thing is, Nintendo might not be around in the future its always a possibility. And also Nintendo has a ton of employees so money like that might not be seen at all unless your higher up in the corporate ladder.

Money is nice yes, but that should not be the reason why you want to work at Nintendo. You would be worth 40 million if you bring new ideas and concepts to the table, things that no one has thought of yet. That is the main problem with products these days its all about money not about making a product completely awesome

If I were you I would aim for starting a new game company. Though that will be an extremely tough task. When you work for someone else you are limited on how much you make, what you can do but if you have your own product there are no limits.

I might be a movie director as backup, yea, too ambitious.

I like doing stories, but I don't think I WANT to do novels, but if there is nothing else for me, then that will be how I become a millionaire.

I am already working on that movie making one with my awesome flash ideas, too bad I got no flash, I wonder if my father still remember that he is suppose to get it for me ?

And when I am a teen, I want to earn some extra pocket change by working in a fast food restaurant (or if they do hire, be a paperboy).

RMC: Well, a little ambitious, but I think that if that's what you want to go for... then do your best to get there. No guarantees though :/.

RMC: Very Ambitious, I see ... Well, I believe you can reach your goal if you work hard enough... but I think that you should wait until your junior or senior year until you make the decision of what work you want to do.
