They have much in common. They much each other, the way to evolve the, and the levels they learn new attacks. But who is best? Your choice.

I chose magmar to even the odds and because I like fire pokemon better.

Both of them are good and rare (in some versions).
But I like Magmar more, because of his fire-cloaked body !

I think Electabuzz would win because he is awesome and cool- lookin.

Electabuzz would defeat Magmar because he is faster and can learn earthquake. I also choose Electabuzz because it evolves into Electivire and he kicks some serious buts.

Electabuzz because of his ability to learn Earthquake via TM. He also(taking BreakDown's opinion) looks cooler than Magmar, which is why I voted for it. Otherwise it can paralyze Magmar and just go all out with it's speed and Thunder attacks.

There both really strong..But id pick Magmar..I love fire types and i love magmars fire body..lol.. Hes really strong too.. All though i like Electrabuzz..Magmar has got his advantages.. so magmars my pick

For me it comes down to two things. First, which type you personally prefer, and two, which status ailment you find more useful. Electabuzz most likely will have thunderwave at some point which is almost always a guarenteed paralyze, and most if not all lightning moves have a chance to paralyze, while Magmar's moves ALL have a chance to burn which could potentiall be a more useful ailment than paralyze.

Magmar is Hot. Like it but not my favorit.

Magmar FTW! Ha, I pick Magmar because it always seemed that he could beat electric pokemon. (disregarding the episode of pokemon where ash faces Blaine).
