I've always thought about this lol. For all of us guys out there, do you think girls, when looking for a boyfriend or something like that, if they had to choose between the two, would they choose a very nice guy or a very funny guy?

I'd pick the nice guy, no contest.
From my experience, people who describe themselves as "funny guys" often do idiotic and immature things to get attention and show off... As well as make jokes that are offensive and in bad taste. I find people with abrasive personalities completely obnoxious. Further, they can't take important things 100% seriously, which is a big annoyance of mine. I'd much rather prefer someone who is honest, selfless, and good-natured (my definition of "nice guy"), even if he is soft-spoken. I value those qualities much more than anything a "funny guy" can offer, especially if the relationship is serious. A guy who is genuinely nice and funny at the same time is something I can appreciate. But like you said, for the purposes of this thread, I pick the nice guy. Nice guys.
Being funny is good... but being very funny is not. Being around them makes me restless coz I'm always thinking if they'll be fine by them selves with those kind of attitude ( the "very" funny guys ) or if someone's gonna be offended by their tongues and pranks soon, or if they'll target me... etc. I hate talking with them because they won't take everything that I say seriously, even if I'm very serious. Nice guy is... well, to put it simply, the ideal gentleman ( not a fake gentleman ). Very nice guys are... pretty boring to be with. But atleast they're kind and know how to treat a girl right, and know how to act with manners.

I chose to be the nice guy more often than not. Having a sense of humor is always good.... but if your sense of humor becomes offensive or over-the-top then you lose any good points from being funny.

It depends on what I'm looking for.
If I don't care much about a serious relationship, I usually prefer funny guys, because they make me laugh. But if I want something more reliable, I choose a nice and polite guy.

Well, I see I was a little wrong with the responses I thought would be put here. I go by the order of qualities girls like most in guys. The first being honesty, the second having a good sense of humor/making them laugh. So I would say most girls go for the funny guy. You could say that honestly is a quality of being a nice guy, but let's face it: It's seems that nice guys are too boring. How often do you hear about nice guys getting the girl? Have any of you females dated a nice guy and liked it? Girls want to be with guys who can show them a good time. Being funny is a good way of doing that. I've always seen girls dating the funny guys in school and other places. Women seem to only have a need for nice men when they're at an older age, when they want to settle down and have kids. But even then most probably never marry based on the guy being nice in the first place.
I stand by my view of girls wanted funny guys over nice guys.

Cyro Xero : In a way that's kind of how I thought of it too. Like I'd see everyone I knew who was in a relationship would be a funny kind of person. The nicer guys seem to get overlooked, so it's nice to have a good amount of both nice and funny lol
