What the hell are you talking about? The electoral college is outdated and uneccessary. Please don't give me the "Oh, but Nasus, if there was no electoral college, Kerry still would have lost". Well if there was no electoral college, Bush would have never "won" in the first place.

Oh nesus, its not out dated. If it wern't inplace here is how campaigns would work. Lets debate on the east coat then lets go to the west, and maybe if we have time stop in chicago, milwakee, detroit, lansing, and cleveland.

Actually, um, thats exactly how it is right now. If the electoral college were gotten rid of, candidates would actually spend time in all states instead of just battleground ones. People in non battleground would feel more motivated because it would feel as though the candidate actually cared whether they were still sucking air. Races would be much more competitive.

Have you the brain worms? Read what I just wrote. With the system we have now, the candidates visit 10-15 states tops. If we were rid of the electoral college, they'd have to go to nearly every state to garner support. Please, use the thing between your ears before making a point.

No you uninlightend one. They would camaign in the a more concitrated area. They would only campaign in highly populated areas. In this system they campaign everywhere so they can get the electoral college votes.

And just to let you know, its not out of date. Its needed more now then when it was started.

Hmmm... Before we have to endure any more grammatical and spelling errors, John, every state with exception of a few has a significant enough population that anyone intelligent running for President would campaign each one thoroughly. I was pissed off that Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the election. Anyway if you're going to argue here you should try to make sense.

Yes, forgive my spelling errors. I usually do these things fast, but i will try to look them over before i post them next time.

And what happened in 2000 has only happned 5 times. It usually works like it did in 2004.

But this is where your argument doesn't make sense. If the whole point of the electoral college is to repeat what the popular vote is, then why is it neccessary? Why not just go by the popular vote in the first place?

Because of why the electoral college was put in place. To make sure all the votes are earned and people just don't campaign in highly populated areas.
