I think Anne Rice is a little over rated. I remember reading Memnoch the Devil which I believe is one of the Lestat novels and found it quite tedious. Still I like the classy, gothic, darkly sexual intellectual vampire found in fiction like that rather than s***e like Buffy or Blade!

The only ones I've really read are Anne Rice and one Christopher Pike novel (Last Vampire).

I actually like Anne Rice, at least the early stuff. Interview with the Vampire and Vampire Lestat were good. Queen of the Damned was decent, though it did start to get a bit drawn out after awhile. I do like the core story and history though. I haven't read any of the other Vampire Chronicals though, so meh.

Dracula does take some reading but I think it's still got the magic! I really like the way the story is told through letters and diary entries. I think it takes exceptional talent to be able to pull off a story like that!
