I just started playing Donkey Kong Country. I keep trying to save, but when i come back later to coninue it's not there. How do I save the game. I'm new so i dont know how saving and loading works yet.

Have you tried save states? If you haven't, press f2 on your keyboard, then when you come back to play later, press f4. And it depends if you're playing the SNES or GBC version, so tell me which.
