Here is the question, that very hard question. (sidenote: this is from guy's Point of View)

In a new beginning with a girl, you have been going out on dates and spending a lot of time together. And we both like each other a lot. When at that point do you ask....

Do you want to be my Girlfriend????

For a guy, this question is one of the few hardest questions for a man, when do we say it? Do we make some extravagant gesture? (like fireworks, or going down on one knee). I DONT KNOW!!!!. But it puts soooo much pressure on a guy. Or Do you just simply ask but what if the girl is not expecting that? then you have lost all creative credibility.

And girls, How would you like to be asked? I know its not the BIG BIG questions but it is a small BIG question. (a man only asked those 1 or 2 questions to you anyway.)

I am not trying to be overly critical but it does pose an interesting topic.

I don't think you should say "wanna be my girl friend"... once you go out consider her your girlfriend Your acting like its proposing to marry them or something lol. What happens happens and you wont need any asking really. If its a big problem to ask (which might be odd in the process), let them make the moves. Do you go to people in school and ask to be their friend? I didn't it just happens.

Definitely don't ask "do you want to be my girlfriend"... way better ways to ask the question. I am going to disagree with JisSaw, every girl I have dated I asked out. If it seems like things are going good and you have been dating for a couple weeks there should be no problem asking her to be exclusive.

Don't go over the top with when you ask her... its just dating right? In fact i think it would be awkward if you built it up too much.

In general I think you just need to chill. And if she does say no just listen to the wisdom of Eazy-E...

It would probably work like "So, does this make us girlfriend and boyfriend?"

The trick is to get them to ask you out Also don't try commit to early they tend to have a problem deciding who they like so expect the obvious of getting your heart torn out

Honestly I've found the guy is the one that can't decide most of the time, but that is beside point. To tell the truth wing, I agree with blackfalcon on this one. You've already asked her out on a date, and you've been dating for awhile. I assume that you haven't gone out with anyone else. If she hasn't either then follow falcon's route and when you feel you have an appropriate moment slip that in... you can ask if this makes you boyfriend/girlfriend or if it makes you exclusive, same difference really. If one of you has been dating other people at the same time then I can see asking her if she wants to be exclusive with you. In that case, I would wait until after a particularly nice date and then say something like "you know, I really like you and I enjoy going out with you like this..." If she responds with the same feelings then tell ask her if she'd like to make the relationship exclusive. Intimidating, but easy.

I think it will be an eternal battle of who blames who for not deciding.

I know that it will either come up in a conversation and one person will say something that will hint what the relationship is or see it in a movie or television show and somehow bring it up.

Well, personally I hate when someone asks me "want to be my girlfriend?"
It's too old fashioned and I prefer "ask" this not with words, but with his behavior. It's less childish this way, for me.

I think, rather than asking "do you want to be my girlfriend," you'd ask if she wants to go out for a movie, or dinner, whatever. Then she'd probably agree to it if she's a good friend of yours or if she likes you. But I don't think you just go ahead and ask her "do you wanna be my girlfriend"... that's like marriage or something lol.

I've had so many guys say that. Or, no, they say "wanna go out?". Irritates me so much. Actually, when my boyfriend now asked me out, it was very sweet, we sat together after school and he was so shy to ask me out, his friends started cheering "Zack! Zack! Zack!" and I said, "Why are they cheering?" and he said "Why do you think?". He went all red and kissed me. It was very blase, but very sweet at the same time.

Blase is usually the way to go. Just find a simple way to propose her to be your girlfriend. Usually works for every girl.
