I'm pretty sure that I would win. I'm Blue.

Yeah... that was pretty lame.

I would worry a little about Gyarados's dual weakness to electric, but it because of it's above average SDef and monstrous attack stat coupled with hyper beam it would make short work of most opponents. It is also immune to ground type moves so the ground team wouldn't be much of a problem.

The ground team is immune to any electric attacks and that gives them an edge against yellow. However, if I remember correctly, both pokemon in the ground team have a dual weakness to water once again giving my team an advantage.

Yellow's team is super effective against mine but I can use my Blastoise's incredible SDef in my advantage and finish them with Hydro Cannon, Surf or Hydro Pump.

Blue : You're forgetting one thing: Luxray's Atk. stat. One or two good Thunder Fangs and Blastoise is down. Volkner simply has to let Blue destroy Roark, and he can easily steal the win. Blastoise and Gyrados have no good counters for electric type Pokemon.

Blue : Um, given Roark and Volkner are participating and using Gen IV Pokemon, we're playing by Gen IV rules, which makes Thunder Fang physical and Hyper Beam special, strengthening Thunder Fang for Luxray and weakening (greatly, Gyarados has pitiful Sp. Atk.) Hyper Beam for Gyarados. So, that doesn't help Blue either...
Also, Volkner simply has to switch his Pokemon. Jolteon's superior speed would definitely help against Gyarados.

Superior speed doesn't matter when you have that little speed. Roark is the first leader, so I counted him out, especially since I didn't like him that much anyways.
