I'm assuming pressing this "home" button is a problem.
If so, turn the console off to clean it.
If it's already off, take out the battery.
The best way to clean something like this would be with a disinfectant wipe.
Then do the edges with a cotton tip dipped in a little water, just enough that it's damp, not wet.
I do this for the DS, so the PSP should clean the same.

Hmm, well I wouldnt say it's a good idea to open up electronics unless you know what you are doing.
If it is under warranty still then defineatly dont open it up, rather instead ask Sony for help.
But if it is out of warranty and you feel you can open it up without causing any damage you could do so.
The rubbers probally are out of alignment, just be careful not to get any moisture inside or anything if you decide to open it up.
Also note game consoles have special screws that a normal screwdriver wont work on.

You need an extremely tiny screwdriver to open up the PSP. Really frustrating to find one that will fit. I'd suggest taking it to a shop that fixes videogame consoles and have them do it instead.
