How can someone compare to entirely different game genres.....oh well, I love FF...so there's my vote!!

I would say Final Fantasy. I've tried and tried to get into Pokemon, but it just never really cut it for me. Everytime I play FF I always get sooo sucked into the story lines and get really involved.

pokemon is best because it is easy to pick up and play and pokemon is the first game i ever played

I do greatly beleave that between the two Final Fantasy is a better game a better time, more time to invest into, just I love it.

I think it's impossible to do a fair comparison of the two - I mean it's hardly a one or the other deal when it comes to Pokemon and Final Fantasy. They're two very different franchises and I both enjoy a great deal.

Pokemon is better for me because I grew up with it. I only played final fantasy a few times, it was ok but i think that pokemon is better.

I think Pokemon is better because it always has been the one I want to buy. But both of the choices are really good.

both have never really caught my interest but if i had to choose it would probably be final fantasy because it actually has a story and is way more challenging than pokemon

Well as others have said, it isnt the fairest of comparisons.
I would lean more toward Final Fantasy as it at least has more varity of stories, where Pokemon is really just the exact same story in every game.

I like Pokemon better, although I think I would like Final Fantasy better if I had money to buy the games :3

I've played nearly every Pokemon game out there. The story line is repetitive, but the games are still great. The only FF game I've played was the original, and I couldn't get into it, it was so confusing. Pokemon is simple, and I like that.

I love the pokemon series AND the final fantasy series. However, despite both of them being RPG based games, they are hard to compare. Pokemon lacks a considerable amount of depth and as both of the series becomes more commercial, final fantasy has aged with much more respect and is a game for older players. Pokemon is stuck in a paradox of time where the game stays a game designed for younger audiences and gets more pointlessly complex without adding any features I truly enjoyed. Just armies of pokemon. That said, the huge selection of creatures to choose from is nice. Crystal was the highest point in time for the series.

All said, I believe final fantasy is a better game for most people.

As I have commented in another thread like this: Its like comparing apples and oranges. There is no real comparison between the two.
pokemon : Game about capturing an leveling up creatures you catch to form the best fighting team to let you win the game. Very little story line there. Now i haven't played since gold/silver but I really do not see any plot to speak of. Team Rocket/whoever it is this game, plans something terrible that will do something bad. That's about it.
Now on the FF side: The actual plot varies from game to game, usually treading on the line of trite, but pulling off something somewhat entertaining. It usually follows the typical RPG formula but features cool thing/people/whatever to raise it above the pack.
All in all I would say that on average Final Fantasy is better, but requires dedicated game play to truly enjoy it.

I love both The Pokemon and The Final Fantasy series. The Pokemon series is great. Traveling around the region, capturing pokemons from the grassy forests to the cold underwater. Eventhough leveling up your Pokemons can be a pain, fighting with them as concuring over the leaders is great. Also participating in other contests is great. I also like the Pokemon series. Interesting and amusing the first few seasons were, then I stopped watching the newer ones. I also like the movie from the first seasons, and the newer ones are good to watch at.

But, I have to say that out of the 2, my favorite is Final Fantasy. I just like it more. You can customize your team, leveling them up, training their moves, and beating the bosses. I also like traveling around the place, and exploring like in the newer games. Also the games have an amzing soundtrack.

I play Pokemon not Final Fantasy. I'ts not for me.

I love both the series but levelling up characters,pokemon etc is really annoying especially when on final fantasy as you level up the monster level up and more harder in that way

but...my vote goes out to pokemon seeing as when you level up the enemy's pokemon don't level up and it's relatively easy but a bit hard with an excellent story.

I will say Pokemon. I do like Final Fantasy but there's just something that I feel makes Pokemon a little better. Can't put my finger on what.

What I see all the pokemon people say is, I've played final fantasy... That statement is erroneous as they are not stating which final fantasy they've played. There are not that many Final Fantasies that were from the same storyline more now a days then yester year. so With games like FFIII (American) FFVII FFVIII FFIX FFX FFXII FFXIII FFIV FFV FF Tactics, the list goes on.

I love Final Fantasy, and I like Pokemon (beat blue with all 150 traded from other games), beat silver (stopped there as the next generation ones were not worth buying, all the same with new Pokemon and new moves. But the Story is the EXACT same).

Final Fantasy stories follow similar patterns but each world is different and they make you go through some tough things such as political espionage, death (you never have a Pokemon die on you), love, hate, suffering, the meaning on existence. These things can be daunting for lesser minds to grasp and I can see how a more simplistic game like Pokemon can be favoured.

But in terms of whether a game is good or not and not using personal preferences. Graphics, storyline and game play Final Fantasy games win hands down, fun factor is where I would draw a tie as Pokemon is just as much fun as Final Fantasy. Sound I would say FF slightly ahead but I love 8-bit/16-bit sounds though (since I grew up on them).

As a previous person said. Try Final Fantasy Tactics (my favourite FF game). It is more like Pokemon.

Just remember, if you've only played the Nintendo Final Fantasy (which was revolutionary for it's time), you haven't played Final fantasy.

i've played many games from both series and i'd have to say that final fantasy is better.

with pokemon things get repetitive but with final fantasy there's always new things to be had.

It's hard to say, there not at all like each other, but I like Pokemon better, probably because I grew up playing it
