Magmortar can learn Earthquake. I don't know if Flint's did, but Magmortar in general can through the use of TM whatever. This puts it at an advantage over all the other fire types (notice nobody has Charizard), giving it (and Flint) an advantage. Blaine would get second, and Flannery just fails. Slugma and Torkoal? Give me a break .

That, and Flint's E4. Instant awesomeness.

I went with Blaine, I think arcanine looks really cool and rapidash is really pretty. I think ponyta is prettier than rapidash, but that doesn't matter since rapidash is so powerful. I don't really know the differences between the trainers though, so I don't know what moves they gave their pokemon and how they would fight.

I agree with BigNate, Magmortar in general has the advantage in moves over the other pokemons. Magmortar is more powerful too, and Flareon is fast and strong.

I chose Flannery if there are all at the same level because

- Torkal is a defensive wall and most moves that fire types learn that a super effective against fire types are physical and that's torkal's best defence
