So I was sitting in a diner this morning after class and see on the news channel a big thing about marijuana being legalized. California is set to vote on it and if it gets legalized there, it'll be a chain reaction after that. It's also funny to me, that it is being talked about today so heavily because today is 4/20 to the date, lol. But I asked this question to you, do you think it should be legal? Basically vote as if you were really voting for and feel free to discuss your reasonings and anything else as well.

Here is a link also for you to check out as well:

While I don't use it myself I don't think it would cause as much problems if it was legalized. Marijuana causes less damage to than alcohol does yet that is legal. Of course there are going to have to be limitations on the use of it, like how you can't drive or be in public while intoxicated or you have to be 18 to use it.

It should be legal its no big deal. I think it already is here theres a pizza place in downtown that has weed in it and the local newspaper is FILLED with weed dispensaries.

Here in Colorado pot smokers gathering in masses capitol and Boulder to smoke it up.

But laws are plain stupid I don't know how they allow drinking and not smoking pot.

I am pretty sure it is already legal for medical purposes in the "Golden State". I hate any smoking. I do not want to see this become legal anywhere.

Yes. Not because I like pot or anything. But because the best way to cut down on it is to take the rebellion out of it. But my one thought is if it is legalized it would make it disgusting to walk around in public. Pot smells HORRIBLE. Its bad enough with cigarettes.

I would rather see possession decriminalized personally. I'm not a big fan of smoking pot but I think it's stupid to get a criminal record for getting high.

However, I'm with Jigsaw. Alcohol being legal and pot being criminal is stupid. Alcohol is way more dangerous of a drug.

I'd have to say no, because although legalization means more tax revenue, it can't be regulated like alcohol. Alcohol passes out of your system in a few hours, while drugs can stay for weeks or months after you used them, even after the effects have worn off. Drugs impair your judgment like alcohol, but there is currently no definitive way to test if someone with drugs in their system is under the influence or not.

As for drug related crimes, I figure it would either stay about the same or go up. If people can suddenly smoke it legally, consumption will go up. Like any drug, it's effect will feel less and less, and likely get people onto the harder drugs, which will still be illegal and very dangerous.

Well I for one don't think pot has much to do with crime unless it's a possession crime or something related to that. They say weed is a gateway drug but my philosophy on that is this. The only reason they say that is because people who do other drugs and such have a tendency to smoke pot as well. I honestly don't think pot makes you want to do other drugs. People just get bored with smoking pot, experiment, and that turns into an addiction for them. I say this as an occasional pot smoker and a non-smoker's point of view.

Now I'm not going to lie or sugar coat anything, I do smoke pot on occasion but not often because of my priorities in life. I feel with the way are economy is, this can maybe make it better in some aspects. It'll not fully be an escape to build back the economy but it'll be a good start. The only thin the goverment needs to do is provide types of weed that is rare and hard to come by per se, and it's sold without the worry of reproduction.

I think that it wouldn't be too much of a problem if it was legal, because they sell things like that all the time. Of course, I'm only a kid, I don't know much.

Medical marijuana could easily be regulated, they just need stricter policies to be able to open up a clinic. Trust me, its stupid how many dispensaries are in California. Goto Venice Beach and you'll see.

As for marijuana being a gateway "drug" thats just flawed, anything can be a "gateway drug". Such as cigerattes and alcohol, it just depends on the person and their own self control.

Actually it really doesn't matter.
If pot isn't legal people are still gonna smoke it.
Then get arrested.
That's just how it is in anywhere if something is illegal people are still going to do it no matter whats going to happen to them or what the side affects are.
I don't really care either I just like people who are high because of there funny slurred speech :3

I say make it illegal to give drugs to someone else, with an extreme punishment to those who break that law, and then legalize everything, at the cost of your welfare and health care. That way, those who have already decided in themselves that they are going to go down that path will, and then we don't have to pay for the mistakes these people make. It will kill off those who would decide to do that, and in the end potentially stop drug use, while increasing the amount of police officers available to stop other crimes. The government would be in control of the distributions, just like alcohol and tobacco, so they can collect their taxes while keeping track of who is buying it. You would also have to use in the government facility you bought it in, to ensure you don't share with others. By making it illegal to give drugs to others, we decrease the spread of drug addictions and make it so people decide for themselves, not get pressured by peers. Of course people will break this law, but after enough media displaying the punishments those caught face, the amount of these people will decrease.

I also think that since alcohol and tobacco is legal, and both are known to kill people, anyone who consumes either should also lose their welfare and health care benefits. Just because they've been legal and socially acceptable for so long doesn't mean they're that much better than drugs like pot. Drunk drivers kill a lot more people than marijuana ever could.

This is all a bunch of wishful thinking that will never happen, and man would never be able to control themselves given such liberties, but I think it would be nice to live in a world free of mind altering substances.

The government are such hypocrites they are the ones bringing in a lot of the drugs into the USA. They like selling drugs then busting you with them. Kinda like how they sometimes dress up as hookers and bust you for it. It's all organized crime, they are a business with pure authority.

If cops followed their true persona they would be camping outside of bars waiting for people to drive home, but they won't do that cause if they did it would expose how they really operate. As I said its all organized crime, 200% tax on cigarettes, hiding on side of road stalking people and then stealing their money if they go a bit faster, and not arresting a whole crowd of pot heads. They work with strategy but it doesn't fool me

I agree Jigsaw, they have the time to give out jay walking tickets, but then when someone sells you a stolen car, and you know where they live, the cops say they're too busy to investigate it. They'll take your car away though, and resell it back to you, but they won't go and bust the guy who just posted the exact same ad with the same pictures back up on the internet. It's absolutely pathetic how useless they can be at times and how much our tax money goes to waste.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
