Do you consider a person to be your best friend even though they dont open up to you? like for instance they dont show there true colors or they always act fake around you.

Yes, I had 2 best friends, a girl and a guy.
But my female friend doesn't open up to me,as much as the boy does, but I really like her company and we have great time, even if we don't tell each other all our secrets.

No... they can still be really good friends, but an absolute best friend has to be completely open and honest with you. They can still have their secrets, but they can't be hiding behind anything, or acting differently around me if I would consider them my "Best" friend.

I've had a really close friend in the past, where I didn't actually know much about him or his life at all. It took me a while to figure that out, but when I did, it frustrated me, as if he didn't trust me. I considered him my best friend because he was open and honest with me in most ways - But, I guess, there was a whole bunch of stuff he had gone through that he didn't want to explain to me. I got over my frustration a long time ago, since I figured it wasn't fair to be upset with him over that. I'm still in touch with him, but not as much since things have changed since then.

Personally, I keep secrets from everyone. There's not one person that knows absolutely everything about me. All my "deepest darkest" secrets are spread out among several best friends. And I bet I have a few that nobody knows at all, I just can't remember which ones. (I'm not good at keeping my own secrets.)

I have 2 people I consider best friends. I believe you should be very open with them, and them with you. But there are always some things you'll want to keep to yourself, and some thing you have to expect your friend to keep too. We all have right to a bit of privacy, even from our best friends.

But if a friend of mine is always wearing a mask, and being fake around me, and they've always been that way, I would become their best friend without them putting their guard down at least once and a while. I understand when one of my friends puts a wall up, sometimes there's just things they have to work out, that's fine. But if a wall is all your friend has ever been, you can't truly be as close to them as someone who let's you in once and a while.

I have two best friends and I feel them to be pretty open to me... I have never had too many problems with that...

I agree with everyone that said that you have to be open to them to be best friends. I mean, I believe that if you can't even do that around your best friends, well then, they probably aren't your best friends then lol

Yeah, even if we don't get to see each other much. She loves to be around me, since that is when she gets really creative and we begin to chat a lot.

Well the person I consider my best friend, I knew for about 14 years. We grew up on the same street together. His mom would watch me while my mom was at work and such as well. We still hang out and talk to this day. I don't have many real friends because I really place them with the same look I have on him as my friend and not many people are like him and are friendship...

only best friend i had was when i was like 15-16 told him everything man only person besides my family who had a key to our crib pretty much was at my house as much as i was

A best friend doesn't have to tell you everything but there should be a level of comfort between the two of you where you feel that you could tell them most anything. It's not all about having fun. So to answer your question, no I would not consider them my best friend.

@Michael: Definitely no. I'm allergic to fake people to put it simply. Fake means they dont truly consider you as their best friend, they are not comfortable having you around that they need to hide their true selves when you're with them, they feel anxious whenever you're around.So yeah, no.

I used to have a best friend when I was younger, but guess what, I found out that she was fake and that she only wanted the "advantage" that she gets from me. And then she went to London to continue her studies "without even saying goodbye to me" and ever since then, I've never seen her, or even talked to her.

But then, years after, I've met a new friend, then we became close friends, and I consider her as my best today. Although I'm not sure if she thinks of me as her best friend as well, or just as her one of her closest ever friend. But I'm contented the way things are between us.

One thing is for sure, she's a true friend.

While a best friend is entitled to keep their secrets, if they always act fake around you then I would not really call them a best friend or even a friend.

I have a few people that I would consider best friends, two men and one woman. The woman has been my best friend since high school and though we are not as close as we used to be because of our busy schedules she is still my best friend. The men are my current boyfriend and my most recent ex because I am able to talk to them easily and share everything with them.

I had to choose no because I have 3 really good friends and it's a tie between them.

I don;t consider anyone outside of my family to be a friend. People will turn on you in a hot minute. People only care about themselves so the quicker you start putting yourself first, the less you will get hurt.

Yes. It takes a while, but eventually you can have a best friend. I've had two. One of them was my friend for years until she turned on me and never spoke to me again, but the other one is still my best friend.
