Whoever can make the best poem wins. This is the entry thread, I'll soon make a poll for people to vote on.

The prizes are:

1st: 5000 Viz
2nd: 2000 Viz
3rd: 500 Viz
4th-10th: 100 Viz

I will check all entries online before I enter them. I will not accept plagiarism (stealing information from internet).

It CAN BE ANYTHING.


Rules: You must have a clean record and must not have been banned more than once.
You must be a member of the Vizzed Board for AT LEAST 5 DAYS.

i changed my mind

Looking at a star.(A poem Made By RockStarKitten)

Looking at a star,So bright and gold.
Nobody know what it is to be told.
Up in the sky,The sky so blue.
They form little images of me and you.
While looking deep into the sky,
Me and you wonder how it would be.
To live up so high.
People say the images are constellations.
I actually believe amazed by the sight,
That guide different sailors every night.
Most in the day people cannot see,
What me and you believe!

I definitely want to take advantage of this because poetry and music is my thing. I'm not in a poetic mind right this second but by the end of the night or tomorrow I will have one up.

If the contest is about making a song and we're gonna upload it somewhere, it'll be more exciting for me.

Maybe you could write out the lyrics and put the song on zshare or something, that would get you more points I'd guess.

But I dont live in North America.
edit: Im not planning to have the games anyway..

That's good, Juliet, you can sign up anyways, the games are the only NA part.

When is the deadline for this? That would help people so they can put some nice things together and know when it is all due by.

It is due by May 30th. If I do not have more than 25 entries by then, then I will extend the time to the 30th of the next month

FROM WITHIN


Dysfunction becomes agony, Gripping from ago,
Below the syndrome of forever, Allow the youth to follow.

Silence mortals, We gaze upon a darkened retro
Let go of massive hollows, Allies counted died.

Foretold the clipping swallows, Icy pines aside,
Only tales of all that holds but still divine.

Crumbling from within....

Lumbering without consent, You hibernate your lies,
As I venture flooded falls, With eagles in my eyes.

Sabotage significance, Sow the reapings mine,
The whispers held a secret of diminished time.

Foretold the slipping scholars, Books cast to the fire,
Only tales of all you know and that which you admire.

As you crumble from within...

This sounds pretty interesting... I might give this a shot but i don't know if i'd be able to come up with a poem by the deadline...

Here's mine... wrote it for a school assignment. It's in the model of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales :

So here's my story, of my trials it's best,
It tells of a boy at a shooting contest.
Sadly, his great flaw, 'twas this, that I'll bet:
If he did not win, then he was upset.
Hold on now, and I shall mention the prize.
'Twas a marvellous feast in front of his eyes,
'Twas labelled “The prize; please do not touch”
Now let me get started lest I tell too much.

This young man was quite skilled at archery,
He'd heard of a competition you see,
Though he had to ride for nearly three hours,
He rode on to arrive soaked from rain showers.
He was cold, and miserable that morn.
He dashed inside when he heard a loud horn.
Registration began, and then to practice.
He was pleased to find he did not often miss.

He spent the night there, along with others,
And by the morning, they acted as brothers.
But 'twas time to compete, and not to jest,
And so he remarked, “May the winner be best.”
Their first task was a course through the hushed woods.
They broke into groups, and shot best they could.
He came out of there knowing he did not win,
But oddly, that fact served to make him grin.

The volley was next, where they stood on the line,
This was were the young man thought he'd do fine.
But the young archers' arms were growing tired,
As the call came, to “Ready, aim, fire!”
When the first arrow shot, went “twang” and then “thud”,
The arrows went singing, towards target, or mud.
The process repeated, they slowly moved back,
But his stubborn arrows wouldn't stay on track.

The day was then over, the process complete,
The exhausted young archer went down in defeat.
He freely stayed for awards in respect.
He hadn't resented losing, not yet
Was he going to sulk, or show his grief.
His bedroom at home would bring that relief.
He received a nice paper, for attending.
He applauded the winners, 'twas the nice thing.

Now I hope you've gleaned a lesson from him.
Even in losing, don't falsely act grim.
For no matter what contest, or how you place,
Whether in shooting, or in a grand race;
You know you're not mad at family or friend,
But mad at yourself, the monster within,
Who can't accept he's not always the best.
Who can't just have fun and forget the contest.

I'll definitely upload a song if I can find some time to do so. And maybe even record it while playing piano (I'm just not a very great singer!). I'm just really busy with school and work right now!

We now have 37 days until the deadline, we have 4/20 participants required. Enter if you can, it can be ANYTHING, a limerick, a haiku, anything you can think of.
