I'm finally at this milestone! Only the 2nd person on Vizzed to hit it.

I didn't post a lot here in the early years. 2004-2008 I only made a little over 1,000 posts. 2009-2011 were the big years. Nearly 18,000 posts there and that put me at almost 20,000.

Early in 2013 is when I hit 20,000 posts. I even made a thread about it and talked about wanting to catch Leggy and retake 2nd which I eventually did. https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=55000&ppp=20&page=0#747461

I had a couple decent years in 2015-2016 getting around 2-3k each year.

I slowly closed in on 29,000k over the next 4 years eventually hitting it in April of 2020.

It's been over 6 years since I hit 29,000. From 2021-2025 I made less than 100 posts per year. My kids were getting older and I was working full time during those years and just didn't have the time to spend here.

This year I got laid off and started to feel nostalgic. I posted a bit during the first half of the year. Getting some posts during the other TdV's but not really making a push. Then this TdV happened and I felt motivated to really make a push and here we are.

I now have over a 1,000 post lead over Zanderlex and about 2,750 over Legacyme3. Neither of them are posting much recently so I doubt either of them will ever pass me again. Everyone else is over 10,000 posts behind me so I don't expect anyone else to catch me.

Woo! Glad you were able to finally hit the big milestone. I think it's especially impressive for you because David owns the site and I'd say probably at least a couple thousand of his posts are from announcements and simple stuff like posting TDV results over the years (in a similar vein, I can't recall if you were the one who ran some of those older VCS? that time frame is past my memory receptors). Of course I'm sure he probably has 30k+ genuine posts too but it's definitely telling that so very few people have ever hit this milestone, probably in any forum ever - it takes an untold amount of dedication that you can't just spawn out of thin air. Congratulations!

Minuano : thanks! I wouldn't have gotten here today if it wasn't for you this month. Especially today. I couldn't have found 40 new-ish places to post if it wasn't for you jumping in and doing this.

And while you're right about the number of posts that David has made that were announcements and what not even those take time and effort to put together.

TdV posts probably match pretty closely to the VCS posts I made back in the day like you said. He's still probably got 10,000 posts over me that are legitimate. I'll never close that gap even if I stay here for 10 more years.

Yeah, he's nearly 16,000 posts ahead right now. I was ahead of him for a very short period of time back in the day. I think it lasted about a month right around 2010 or 2011. Since then he's had the lead and that won't change now.

And just when everyone, you included, thought you wouldn't get up here in time, you managed to do it nevertheless. Huge congrats, man!

You're basically the last one who can achieve this milestone. Leggy isn't coming back and zander is still active but at a very low level so as to attempt to get up there with you. So enoy the fact of being the only mortal besides the owner himself who has managed to do something like this.

EX Palen : yeah, I was hopeful that this would happen but had resigned myself to the idea that it wouldn't and that I would pick up posts in August to eventually get there. Thankfully I didn't have to wait and could include this as part of the July TdV.

And I don't expect anyone else will hit this milestone. The activity isn't enough and likely won't ever be again.

I was really hoping you would manage to hit it before the month ended seemed like a perfect time to accomplish it when you've been so active this month I've been hoping for what feels like forever for you to become active again and hit it so I'm glad to see it happen cause like you said very unlikely anyone else will ever hit it at this point.

Yeah, I didn't expect it to happen but I'm glad I was able to cap off this month with the 30k. A TdV win would have been cool too but I didn't want to force it.
