You know how sometimes you can just tell on first glance what someone's favorite Pokemon type or even favorite Pokemon in general is? Bruno is one of those guys. If you show anyone Bruno's sprite or art, they will be able to tell you he dreams of being as muscular as Machamp.

That's exactly what he is. A muscle head. Red meat on his mind, not a logical thought has ever been created in his brain.

Bruno is the Fighting type expert and the second Elite Four member of the Indigo League.

He might genuinely be one of the easiest Elite Four members of all time.

To start us off, Bruno will always use 5 Pokemon. In just about every single battle with him, 2 of those will be Onix. Yes, you read that right. Onix. The same ace as the VERY FIRST GYM LEADER. Onix, despite looking tough, has laughably weak stats besides Defense BECAUSE he is an early boss fight. Worst part is, it's not even a fighting type! Poliwrath or Primeape were right there!

He does occasionally use one different Pokemon, but essentially his team comp will look like the Hitmons, his ace Machamp, and filling the rest with Onix. Not to mention his moves typically suck. His Hitmontop in Generation 2 is stuck clicking Pursuit and Dig!

At the very least Let's GO gave him a bit more of a challenging squad, despite Onix being on it. Plus he has a Poliwrath, my favorite Kanto Pokemon! All is forgiven, Bruno

Especially coming after Lorelei, Bruno is a big disappointment.

Probably the only interesting thing about Bruno is that he is somehow still there when you get back to Indigo Plateau in the Generation 2 (and HG/SS) games. Not only that, but the guy got promoted to being the third Elite Four member! Still has an Onix though.

Bruno is a one dimensional ogre with some of the weakest Pokemon ever owned by Elite Four members. This wouldn't even be so bad if he was at all interesting or made some cameos in the game's main plot or post-game plot, but he doesn't. You never see, meet, smell him at any point other than his tiny room in Indigo Plateau.

Thankfully we got Bruno but better when Marshall came in Generation 5. Hope we don't see him again and that he gets fired post the events of Johto games.
