I wasn't sure what to title this with so many different things to talk about but Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri happened either today or yesterday depending on your time zone and I can't help but feel this is one of the biggest days in the series history just in terms of announcements!

Starting out with this video at first I thought we were getting Dragon Ball Minus as an anime special which would of been stupid since we got most of the stuff from it in the Broly movie. Then when it went to making the manga panels come to life I thought oh no is the whole series getting remade? Which wouldn't be bad I guess but I feel like between Z and Kai and then just reading the manga we have enough options for Z at least I wouldn't mind OG Dragon Ball getting the love though. So I had no clue what it was going to be but when it said "A new chapter begins" followed by Dragon Ball Super Galactic Patrol I let out a YES yell despite it being late and my grandparents already being in bed oops. I have wanted nothing but to see the anime continue past the ending to the Tournament of Power since it ended in 2018 don't get me wrong the 2 movies were great but having new Dragon Ball weekly is really special to me and Daima didn't really do much for me but leave me more questions but none of that matters now it's finally happening something I gave up on after nothing for so long even when the manga continued on going past the ending of the anime. Truthfully I was going to be happy with the event no matter what after this but it just kept going with the hype!

Next we had Dragon Ball Project Age 1000 which is set if you know the Dragon Ball timeline a little more than 200 years after anything in the manga. We'll get more info in April but they did reveal Toriyama was pretty involved in this before he passed and teased it would have more features than any other Dragon Ball game. I've seen people speculate it's Xenoverse 3 or it's going to be an MMO cause it's set when Dragon Ball Online took place timeline wise which I don't see Bandai doing an MMO cause they typically do stuff that works and doing a big console MMO would be a huge risk, I've also seen people speculate it'll be like Genshin which I would be surprised by but like I said we'll wait and find out more in April.

This is probably the thing I'm the 2nd most excited for at launch I was loving Sparking Zero but then I finished playing story mode and realized there was almost nothing to really do as I didn't find custom battles that engaging and I feel like the tournament AI is nothing compared to the past titles in the Budokai Tenkaichi series so a game that I wanted to love and play for hours just kind of fell to the way side only to be picked up every couple of months for the Super Hero and Daima DLCs to be played for a bit to then drop again for months at a time. This DLC teases a lot very quickly! New Maps, New Characters, New Super Attacks, New Costumes, and a new mode! Starting with the characters we got most of the OG Dragon Ball characters who were missing such as Grandpa Gohan and Devilman! The new super attacks and costumes look pretty cool I'll always love having more options but it wasn't something I particularly was dying for but seeing a new mode teased for it in the dlc looks pretty interesting seeing the Dragon World map for time in years but I'm not getting my hopes up for it yet could just be an arcade mode for all we know which could be fun. This DLC will also have it's own theme song by the one and only mr dbz himself Hironobu Kageyama I remember they talked about him being involved in the past games at some point after it was revealed and thinking oh he's definitely going to do a new song for the game but then it realized and we got Limit Break x Survivor for the OP from Dragon Ball Super which I love but that was a minor gripe for me cause it made no sense but now they fixed even that. They also posted a separate video that reveals tomorrow a free update for PS5, Steam, and Xbox Series X will add Mission 100 to the game which is a mode that probably should of been in the game from the start but I'm so happy to see it back in the game and then in spring we will get survival mode which once again another mode I was dying for! It does suck that Switch and Switch 2 players have to wait longer for both the free updates and the DLC which will release in Summer for the non Switch consoles.

It isn't over yet!

So before the event there were lots of rumors of Dragon Ball remake but even more so for Dragon Ball Super Remake and I didn't believe them at all cause even though Super was rushed to start and had the infamous episode 5 and even Akira Toriyama saying the anime needed to be better I just didn't think they would remake Super but here we are and here Dragon Ball Super Beerus is we are getting another version of Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods and you know what even if I don't think it was necessary and we don't know if we are getting just this arc or maybe even all of Super Remastered I'm happy with it. For starters it's a remaster not a remake they describe it as an enhanced version of the story with recuts and such and I've seen lots of images already showing how much better they have made it look and it starts this fall so it won't be long till I watch the part of Super I promised myself I would never rewatch over watching Battle of Gods. I do think with them using Super's new logo they probably will remaster the whole show and I think that would be better than only doing part of it because I think it'd make getting into the show easier than telling someone "First watch Dragon Ball Super Beerus than skip to this episode in Dragon Ball Super and keep going and then after it's over..." etc.

This event was announced on my birthday last year and I can't complain at all my expectations were super low and if I had my expectations all the way up they would of been met.

SO MUCH f***ING YES!

I'm excited for the new anime series, I followed the story in the manga and it was awesome. I hope animation is okay, the quality has lowered a lot in recent years (I think Daima did overturn this, but I didn't watch it closely enough to affirm it) and this new chapter has so much hype. In particular, I can't wait to see Goku pull out his Susanoo-style technique on Moro, and going into the nerdy thing I'd like to see who they put to voice the new characters because the Japanese seiyuu team has always been over the top.

To think that Toriyama's last project was actually that new videogame is very special. I'm not a friend of how they've sold it so far, though it's also true it would make zero sense to have another Tenkaichi-style videogame (and even more with Sparking Zero getting new content announced at the very same event) so I guess it will have its fanbase. I'm looking forward to the newly introduced characters and see what Toriyama had in store for us before his untimely death.

The other two announcements are great, but obviously overshadowed by the totally new things coming our way. Super truly needed a remaster with all the complaints so maybe now we will have what we deserved of a new Dragon Ball anime. The thing is that if it's airing on Fall what window does that put the new arch into? We're easily into mid 2027 with this and could drag on for more if it's true that they will remaster more episodes, though we could see a change and get both airing simultaneously (Gundam did it in the past, and I'm sure others also did) which could be awesome.

We definitely weren't disappointed by the news, and definitely weren't expecting what we ended up getting. The future looks promising and bright for this long-running franchise and it's the best piece of news of the year so far.

Ayyy. I remember you telling me what you were hoping to get out of this livestream or reveal, so I'm glad to hear you're excited about it.

I'm personally not a big dragon ball guy, and I'm not really into shonen for the most part, but it's great to see a franchise really giving back to its fans and joining the celebrations. To be honest I've heard so much of that over the years from Dragon Ball, seems like a nice community.
