Anyone who likes anime should be super excited for the lineup we have for this summer. It's the biggest anime season we've had since probably Fall 2022 and easily one of the biggest ones ever because of how much firepower there is. I kinda just wish we could skip the spring season and go straight to summer.

Some of the heavy hitters include new seasons of:
My Dress Up Darling
Kaiju No. 8
Dan Da Dan
Rising of the Shield Hero
Call of the Night
Grand Blue
Rent A Girlfriend

Plus new parts for:
Sakamoto Days
Dr Stone

And that doesn't include new anime like Gachiakuta.

I am excited for the new season of Kaiju No. 8, which is the only one that I have seen.

I might watch Rent A Girlfriend, it seems ridiculous but there are some cute girls in it.

Barathemos: Kaiju No. 8 really surprised me. I had no intention of watching it but then at some point this year I watched a recap video of the best anime of 2024 and it was ranked pretty high so I have it a chance. Ended up being probably my favorite new anime of 2024.

lol I only watched it because they did a skin collab in Fortnite and I liked the theme of the skins.

I guess their marketing is pretty hit or miss. I feel anime as a whole has had trouble getting new viewers who aren't die hard fans.

Barathemos: I blame Disney and Netflix for that. The main player for anime is Crunchyroll and their marketing is obviously towards people who are already big anime fans. Netflix came along recently for big anime that weren't originals and Disney Plus started getting a lot of big stuff the last two weeks.

The two of them started getting lots to the point where they're competing with Crunchtroll but they refuse to market so even the people who are big anime fans have no idea.
