Is there anyone else excited for the 2025 baseball season? I'm going to be following the Mets as usual but I'm also going to be playing close attention to players that I have lots of cards of like Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Vlad Jr, plus a bunch of my other favorite players.

My work schedule makes it hard for me to watch baseball (or any sport, for that matter) since I work evenings and weekends, but I've been trying my best to watch the Yankees. Even with Soto leaving and Stanton, Cole, and Schmidt being hurt, I'm optimistic about this season. They got off to a great start against Milwaukee, but haven't fared as well against Arizona.

I just saw the news about Vlad Jr signing his extension with the Blue Jays. 14 years for $500 million. Personally I think it's kinda sad.

On one hand, Vlad gets his money and the Blue Jays will be able to generate a lot of revenue from having him be the star for 14 years.

But unless the Blue Jays do other big moves, it will be similar to the Mike Trout situation. The only other big name the Blue Jays have is Bo Bichette and he is a free agent next year. Unless they trade him now for a few tip prospects or spend significantly more money, it's going to be a waste from a winning standpoint.

Plus it's kinda sad for Vlad himself because there's a few teams who would have hit $600 million on the open market.

Well, after seeing Seattle have an abysmal start, I've already given up the season. And then JP Crawford had to go get shelved for at least 3 months? Ownership refuses to put up a quality team. I'm sorry, but paying Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez, that's not enough!

It's been nice to see Mike Trout getting off to a pretty decent start with 6 HRs. His average and on-base percentage aren't great, but his slugging percentage is just as good as ever. I really hope he can stay healthy this season. It's been way too long since he's played a full season.

Right now it seems the three best players to watch are Alonso, Carroll, and Soderstrom.

Ive been surprised that nearly all of Soderstroms home runs have come on the road. You look at his numbers and you'd expect it to be a result of playing in a minor league stadium but he's playing worse there so that's a good sign.

Jazz Chisholm was just fined and suspended 1 game for criticizing an umpire, which I find ridiculous. The call he was criticizing was absolutely awful. He was right to be critical of it! MLB should be holding their umpires accountable for their poor performance rather than suspended playing for rightly criticizing them.

I am a Guardians fan and I am not really sure how I feel about this season so far. They are doing ok, honestly better than I expected, but it has been kind of shaky. They started a little rough but have looked really good in their last few games, so I am hopeful again.

I have been a Indians fan for a long time though, so I know not to get my hopes up.

Aaron Judge is off to an incredible start this season. He's hitting over .400 with an OPS above 1.200. Truly incredible stuff. Best hitter since Barry Bonds.

It's still early but I'm excited to see what Pete Alonso does. His 18 extra base hits puts him on pace for 116-117 which would be right at the all time record. Even Ohtani hasn't crossed 100 so it would be cool to see how far Alonso can go. Because of how hot he's been at the start, even if he goes back to how he normally plays, it could still be his career best.

Seattle pissed me ofdf to start the season. So, I wrote them off and now they are going on a crazy run. Maybe I need to write them off more often.

RavusRat: The A's are going to be a fun team to watch. They had one of the best off seasons this year and have a few top young players. They were actually one of the best teams in all of baseball from 2018-2022 and this year will be at least fun, if not good.
