I found some meaningful advice some months ago while browsing for pics.

It wasn't all good advice. I had to omit a tidbit about what to do if a "kid" begs for money because I think the more relevant advice in that scenario would be "get out of that unstable country before the next regime takes over" but most of the tips were good things to know. They just weren't typed out by someone who prefers to converse in English. Some pruning tends to be needed.

Without ado, here is what the tips generally meant.

If someone hugs you, do not be the one to break it up.

Take off or put up your sunglasses if you want to speak to someone right next to you.

Regardless of your level of endearment, do not ask friends or room mates to borrow shoes or accessories or clothing. Those are personal belongings.

Do not order extravagantly pricey stuff when you are splitting a bill 50/50 or another person is paying that bill.

Do not make a taxi driver wait for you. Time actually does translate rather directly into money for them.

If you borrow someone else's book, do not leave a mark on them or in them. Do not even fold a page corner. Get a dang bookmark. Return them in a good condition and within a prompt time frame [ next time you hang with them, e.g. ] .

Compliment people when you see they put in extra effort.

Praise publicly. Criticise privately.

Be quiet when other people are sleeping. That means not talking loudly, not laughing audibly, not slamming doors, drawers or anything loud.

AS a Christian I am not perfect but I try to serve the Lord. A lot of my advice is centered around that.

After reading these this reminds me of the golden rule. Treat others how you want to be treated.

In addition, I also got out of this show respect and you will go a long way. Also, do what is right. As you pointed out if you are splitting a bill don't order the most expensive thing that can be seen as rude and taking advantage. If you do criticize there is a nice way to do it.

A thing I learned while training to supervise people is that criticism is a softened blow when sandwiched between two great compliments.

Example: You showed up on time today Cindy!

I do need you to be a lot friendlier to customers from now on. Much of this business depends on whether customers want to shop here. It starts with a friendly staff presence.

I am very pleased with how clean your uniform is today.

Stuff like that.

Why is this in the meme forum lol.

The sunglasses one doesn't make any sense. I don't even wear sunglasses because I can't see anything without my prescription glasses, but if I did, I wouldn't take them off every time I wanted to talk to someone. Talking to someone doesn't make the sun go away lol.

I do agree with not ordering expensive items when someone else is paying, not making a taxi driver wait, and not damaging someone else's book, though.
