Bamboo Panda also known as Bamboo Pandamonium in Japan, is a reploid, cyborgs with human traits such as making own choices and having morality, that appeared during the events of Mega Man X8. He would later become a maverick, which are reploids that pose a danger to the world, so lets learn about him.


Bamboo Panda was a reploid designed for military training and base management. He was used in military training exercises especially in tropical and jungle combat. He was also put in charge of testing missiles, as well as nukes. In fact, he was put in charge of managing a missile and nuclear weapon base in China. Part of his job was to test weapons, and destroy the faulty ones. He also was to provide security to the base by preventing mavericks from getting their hands on the nukes. All seemed to be going well.

However, Panda was also a new type of reploid that had the copy chips in his programming. The Copy Chips allowed the new reploids to temporarily copy another reploid's body. The copy chips where also to prevent circuits from malfunctioning and to prevent the reploids from going maverick. Oh how that was a mistake as the copy chips also included Sigma's Data. This meant that the reploids could decide to follow sigma's ideas at will.

In the meantime humans and reploids started to build a pathway to the moon called the Jacob or project. Lumine, who is really Sigma, was put in charge of developing it. All seemed to go well at first. Lumine gets captured and mavericks start popping up. Meanwhile China and other organizations destroyed the weapons that Panda was guarding leaving the base empty. Panda though decides to follow Sigma new idea for a new world for reploids only. Even though the weapon's at the base where destroyed. Panda builds new missiles and nukes. He also turns his tropical jungle base into a booby trapped death trap. Based on his conversations with the hunters it is implied that he was going to fire missiles and nukes at random places in the world.

X, Zero, and Axle storm his base and encountered the now maverick Panda. Before fighting Panda states his reasoning for following Sigma. Eventually he fights the hunters but he is defeated.

Appearance- Panda is a large heavy reploid that is based off of the Panda Bear. He is mostly black and white in armor. He has a green backpack and green cannons throughout his body. He also has bands of red and gold/brown on his arms and legs. Moreover, he has very thick armor that can withstand blasts.

Personality- Panda's personality is complex. Before he became a Maverick he was calm and level-headed. He seemed to take his job seriously. He was also cautious as he was working with very dangerous weapons. He made sure he followed saftey protocal. However, he questioned why was these types of weapons needed and why did humans and even reploids fight in wars.

After going maverick he became fascinated with Sigma's version for a new world. He stated that Earth needed to be eliminated for making dangerous weapons and for fighting constant wars. His beliefs are warped as he states that he is helping the world by giving it what it wants, death, destruction, and war. In his twisted mind he thinks by rebuilding the weapons he once guarded, and by firing them at the world he is purifying the world. He also states that whatever happened to the world did not matter to him because the new world would be a better place.

When the hunters encountered him he states some strange things. He first states that missiles had been around for centuries and some of the early wars used destructive devices. He also states I'm just helping this world by giving it what it wants. In some versions he hints that he is going to fire missiles and nukes. When Zero says is that your believes or Sigma's he states it does not matter as this world needs to be wiped out as its decayed. So yeah, his beliefs are rather twisted and warped.

Abilities- Panda is very intelligent knowing about all forms of missiles and nukes. This is because he helped develop them. Even after the original equipment is destroyed, he was able to rebuild it. He was also able to turn his base into a death trap. Panda's armor is very thick and bulky. He has thick armor that he can withstand blast from missiles, bombs, and nukes. He also has an unlimited supply of missiles. He can also use his massive size to his advantage.

Attacks- Panda has very powerful attacks. One of his powerful attacks is firing a huge missile. Even if opponents dodge the missile it has a large burn radius. He can also create a Bamboo Spear. The Spear can even penetrate armor and he can also create big spears to try to crush his opponents. He has grappling techniques as he can grab his opponent with his huge hands and squeeze them. In addition, he can use this to jab opponents with his very long claws. He also can use his claws in a fast past attack doing powerful damage. His most powerful attack is he can fire large missiles or bombs from his cannons and backpack. These missiles and bombs do massive damage. Another powerful attack is he can do his dash attack. In this attack Panda will use his massive size and weight and smash his opponent against the walls.

Weaknesses- Panda due to having very thick bulky armor is not the fastest. It is possible for a player to dodge some of his attacks and ambush him from behind for damage. However, despite being able to withstand blasts from bombs and nukes he is weak to pure fire. Burn rooster's weapon burns his bamboo spears. The burn attack also stuns him temporarily stopping his attacks. Another reason he could be weak to fire is fire is used to burn traps in jungle combat.

Overall Panda was once a respected reploid that had a huge important task at his hand. He was once regarded as a very safe reploid as he was trusted with some of the most dangerous weapons. Since he had a copy chip in him it was thought he could not go maverick. However according to Lumine/Sigma the new generation reploids can go maverick at will.

It is debated did Panda go maverick at will due to so much destruction in the world, or was he being controlled by Sigma. Either way is possible. Regardless, he seemed to believe that he needed to help blow up the world or wipe it out to build a new world. He believed that by developing illegal weapons and firing them he was just giving what the world craved.

In his Maverick state he seemed to like war, death and destruction. Again, stating that is what the Earth wants and needs. I just help it by giving these things. Panda though failed to see that he might get destroyed as well. Panda also failed to see that X, Zero, Axle and other organizations wanted peace but Sigma was the main cause of the maverick wars. He challenged the three hunters to a duel to the death and was defeated. Ironically he states he is not afraid to die in the old world as its just part of the death and destruction. That is exactly what happened to him he chose a destructive path and it lead to his destruction.

Despite being a non maverick at first, he is not considered a victim. If what Lumine/Sigma said is correct he could have stopped his actions at any time. He could have destroyed his weapons and just lived peacefully in his jungle. Also given how he felt no remorse for wanting to launch missiles and nukes at the Earth to purify it, he was deemed a very dangerous person. Therefore, he is not like Storm Eagle, Magnet Centipede, Blizzard Buffalo, Neon Tiger, Volt Catfish, The Skyver, Rainly Turtloid or Blizzard Wolffang.

In conclusion, he started off being a highly respect character to a character that was a disgrace as well as dangerous. This concludes his biography.
