1934 was 90 years ago. In 1934 there was no Hurricane Hunters, and no Satellites. Weather Satellites where first used in 1960. The Hurricane Hunters would form 9 years later in 1943. Tropical Storms or hurricanes where only known if they impacted land, or if ships reported them. However, the National Hurricane Center has been doing a reanalysis project. After analyzing ship data some storms that were known back then would be discovered.

In 1934 the average Atlantic Season had 9 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes, categories 3, 4, and 5. The seasons total accumulated Cyclonic Energy on average would be around 75. The 1934 season was a very active season as it was believed to be influenced by a La Nina. The season produced 13 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 1 major hurricane. The season's total ACE was around 80. A lot of the storms where short lived due to forming close to land.

Here is a list of all known storms. Dates in parenthesis is when the storm was tropical. Damage is in USA dollars, and an * by the storm means it was a major hurricane. Storms where named by number as actual names did not being until the 1950's. Winds are the peak, and pressure is the lowest known pressure

Hurricane #1 (6/4-/16) 100 mph pressure 966 millibars category 2. The first storm of the season also known as Central American Hurricane was a hurricane that developed in the Caribbean. It made landfall in Belize as a category 1 and later the USA state of Louisiana as a category 2 hurricane. Overall the hurricane killed 1,800 people and caused $10 million in damages.

Hurricane #2 (7/12-7/16) 90 mph pressure 980 millibars category 1. This hurricane formed off the East Coast of the USA and stayed out to sea.

Hurricane 3 (7/22-7/26) winds 85 mph pressure 975 millibars category 1. This hurricane developed in the Gulf and made landfall in Texas at peak intensity. 19 people died and $4.5 million dollars of damage was done by the storm.

TS Four (8/20-8/23) 40 mph pressure unknown. This tropical storm was short lived.

Hurricane #5 (8/26-9/1) 90 mph pressure 989 millibars category 1. This hurricane impacted Texas as a category 1 hurricane and Mexico as a Tropical Storm. Impacts where unknown.

TS #6 (9/1-9/4) 50 mph pressure 1008 millibars. This storm made landfall in Virginia causing severe flooding damage is unknown.

Hurricane #7 (9/5-9/9) 105 mph pressure 965 millibars Category 2 This hurricane developed off the east and made landfall in New England as a category 1 hurricane. The hurricane killed 140 people and sunk boats.

TS #8 (9/16-9/23) 50 mph pressure 1010 millibars. Tropical Storm that stayed out to sea.

TS #9 (9/18-9/24) 60 mph pressure 1000 millibars. Tropical Storm that stayed out to sea.

Hurricane #10 (10/1-10/4) 100 mph pressure 984 millibars category 2. This category 2 hurricane developed in the Central Atlantic and stayed out to sea.

TS #11 (10/1-10/6) 60 mph pressure 1004 millibars. This tropical storm made landfall in Florida.

TS #12 (10/19-10/23) 45 mph pressure 1001 millibars. This storm made landfall in Cuba but impacts where unknown

*Hurricane #13 (11/20-11/30) 115 mph pressure 955 millibars Category 3. This storm made landfalls in the Bahamas as a Tropical Storm and then strengthened at its peak over the Gulf Stream. Minor damage was reported
