If you were school in the 90's you probably have heard of Treasure Mathstorm. Treasure Math Storm was made by the Learning Company. It was released in the early 1990's. Since then other versions where released mainly for Windows. No matter the version they are all the same. The main difference among the versions is the color and voice of the characters. Otherwise this walkthrough will be good for other versions. However, I will be doing the Macintosh version since that is the version I played and are the most familiar with.


The intro is mainly the plot of the game. You can press spacebar or click on your mouse to skip it. You will be asked to enter your name. Enter your name and start the game. Chirp the snow bird will give you instructions and hints.

Starting off

You will start with a few nets exit the Igloo. You want to catch elves with your net. The elves you want to capture are the ones holding scrolls. Once captured they will ask you to solve problems. Answer the math problem correctly. The Elf will tell you how many snowballs you need to put down or remove to find treasure. They will also give you cents you can use at the general store. I usually head left. You will notice a mountain but you need 4 picks to scale it. Keep going left and collect snowballs to get treasure. The first few levels have three treasure. You will then see a huge igloo with a clock on top of that enter. The time master will ask you to tell the time or match the clock with the digital clock. Do that and each time get a pick, again you need 4. Note after getting the picks. I recommend solving more time problems to get cents.

Go back to the mountain that has pick marks you can now move the second area of the mountain. Once again you will have to capture an elf and solve the problem. Get the snowball code and find treasure. If you have earned enough cents. I recommend going to the general store to buy nets. I use to get the nets of three. Head to the weighing or scale store. Balance the scales. Here you will earn parts for a catapult. After getting the parts I like to use the scales to rack up cents. Go to where the catapult is and spring up to the third part of the mountain.

You are now at the top of the mountain. Here you will need to capture an elf and solve the problem. You will see a large Yeti beside the golden door. He will not let you in till you have the correct ladder parts. You will see a crystal cave. Enter it and you will meet the crystal counter. Count the crystals correctly and you will earn a ladder part. Once again you need 4 parts. You can also continue to count crystals for extra money. Head back to the Yeti. The Yeti will ask you to find the missing number solve the problem. You will now enter the golden room and climb the ladder. You will put the treasure you collected into a large treasure chest. The elf will give you a grand treasure. The grand treasures are completely random. You will then jump out of the window back to the Mountain's base. You will be in the same cave you started. You can go to the treasure room and see your rewards.

Part Two

Once again climb back up the mountain. Buy more nets, solve the time puzzles, scale puzzles, and crystal puzzles to clime the mountain and earn another treasure.

Part Three

Once again you go to do the things you did before. Remember how I said stock up on nets. Well now you got to watch out for floating snowballs. These are called snow bullies. If a snow ball hits you, you will lose money. Before I start solving problems and puzzles. I like to keep moving to a see the floating snowball. Right before its going to hit you, press spacebar to cause it to dissipate with your net. After that do what you did before. Each part of the mountain will have one floating snow ball. You will also notice the puzzles and problems get more difficult.

After scaling the mountain several times things will start to change even more. Instead of three treasures on each level of the mountain, there will now be 4. Keep doing what you have been doing solving problems. The snow bullies will also be faster so continue to stock up on nets in case you miss.

After more scaling the mountains. You will now notice each level of the mountain has more treasure but now there are multiple snow bullies. Deal with them like you did before. I forgot to mention this earlier but if you run out of nets you can duck to dodge the snow bullies until you can buy more nets. Keep solving puzzles and problems to scale the mountain and earn treasure.

After getting all the treasures, you will be taken to the top of the mountain. There the master of mischief will be setting in his chair. The crown will start to melt undoing the master of mischiefs snow machine. You do not have to fight the master of mischief. However, he will try to start his snow machine up again only for it to malfunction on him. In some versions it freezes him and in other versions he will snow blown all over him.

Congratulations you have beat treasure mathstorm. You have also undone the master of mischief's scheme. In addition, you have returned Treasure Mountain to its spring/summer state.
