I don't really have much of an opinion. I think it is important to give people choice, so I don't see them going the Pokemon Yellow route again. The only reason that worked was because of how popular Pikachu was due to the anime. I don't think it would be the end of the world to switch up the starter types, but I also don't expect it to happen soon. The rock-paper-scissor dynamic that Fire, Water, and Grass have just makes too much sense.
