Hey everyone . I was curious if there are rom hackers around nowadays looking for grander projects to join on. I've been looking for others to join my ongoing project for FF4 (PSP) and FF9 (PSX).
Both are similar to FF6 T-Edition, lots of new features, expansions etc. and more.
The project's name is 'Last Fate', which adapts all the classic Final Fantasy's formula in a new adventure.
New features include:

Lethal Strike
Add a 16/32% chance of a new effect activating:
This is similar to a critical hit

Guard-Parry
Add a new function which will repel a physical attack.
It has a 30% chance of occurring.

An expanded limit break

Gunblade effect; party members who wield gunblades can use Squall's gunblade TRIGGER under their Limit.

Dual-Command; for dual-wield, combo hit (%)

Custom midi music, sprites, outfits, power boost, power deflect, spell animations.

and a lot more.

I'm looking for rom hackers now for other parts of its data and expansion.

A demo version, which is also part of the project, was released at a time in June 2023, also referred to as 'Final Fantasy IX-2: Last Fate'.

Perhaps by chance someone you know, through connections, could also join.

Much like FF6-TE, it's a passion project driven by continuing the legacy of classic FF while expanding greater and greater.

I would be of absolutely no use and I barely understand half of what you said, but sounds like a cool project and I wish you the best of luck. There used to be a few rom hackers around here, but not sure any of them are still active. (I've experimented with Basic Pokemon ROM hacking, but that's about it.)

tgags123: That's okay, At a time, joiners would've been paid for their time given to contribute (by per milestone or hourly; their choice), but that's counted self-promotion apparently, so I could no longer do so.

I don't know anyone who could or would do that but if I find someone I'll let you know. That sounds like a fun project to do, or should I say cool one.
