Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me out on an idea for an essay i need to write. The subject matter is picking out a trend that has changed drastically in the past 5 years. I was thinking something like Social Networking, but I'm not sure. Maybe something a bit more broad like using the internet itself and reasons and such. But if there are any better ideas out there, i'd appreciate them. Thanks.

Well, texting is one of them. In such a short amount of time, it has become the base of all teen communication through cell phone text messages, computer text messages, and has become the source of most acronyms that are commonly used today, such as LOL, 1773, WTF, FTW, ROFL, IDK, ILY, and PWND, along with other acronyms. It has also become a recurring source of annoyance and frustration to smart people who type and write regular text messages with correct spelling, punctuation, etc., such as myself. It is truly the language of the teenager, especially the ones desperate to fit in with todays society. Thank god I'm not one of them, I don't like being retarded.
