I keep coming back to this thread, trying to figure out what the point is because it's not entirely clear to me.
The way I think you are asking is, do your parents help you by getting you to do the right thing?


If that is the question, I would say no, not really in my experience. I would say I had more external guidance in life, but not in an extreme way, more of the basics.

In reality our morality is shaped not only by our raising but by what we observe around us the more we learn the more we change and as such in a way for us our entire environment does the job of Jiminy a parent is meant to help guide you but its not the sole cause.

Honestly, not at all. To me I disregard what they think of my actions and such due to well, it’s my life and I want to deal with my mess ups and problems. Sure they can keep you on track to the right path but sometimes not everyone has that type of privilege of parents steering their children to do what’s right. You see how some parents let their kids do what they want and not care, or act like their kids are friends rather than being a parent to them.

I mean me, my parents were strict and they made sure that I wouldn’t do anything wrong in my life. Maybe that’s why I developed this type of mindset where I would disregard what they think these days since I’m just like, trying to enjoy my life now.

When I was 11 I got saved. But I started reading the Bible more when I was a teenager. That really established my conscience I believe. Don't get me wrong my parents helped install good morals in me.
