Yeah I'm not going to waste a theme song lyric on her. So I guess it was only natural that DW got some books too, even though the original four (DW All Wet, DW Thinks Big, DW Flips, DW Rides again) got episodes first DW the Picky Eater didn't come until season 2 I don't know what other books DW got though *one google later* they added DW's Blankie, Go To Your Room DW, and DW's Library Card to the lineup...man that's a heck of a gap between books I mean GTYR DW and DW LC was a two season gap, but I guess they didn't feel like wasting paper on her. But I guess someone out there said "She needs one too" even though I strongly believe that Arthur's Reading Race was more of a DW story than an Arthur Story (and why does she hate being referred to by her real name Dora Winifred? do you know how much trouble she gets into? whenever she gets in trouble she gets referred to by her real name, heck she almost went ballistic on her kindergarten teacher she her nametag said Dora instead of DW, but she actually calms down when she learns that the teacher's first name is Dora, I'm actually sorry we didn't get to see more of Arthur and DW in their new grades, even the South Park Kids stuck to continuity once in awhile...at least they did before Randy took over the show)

Gameplay and Story: So if you haven't read the book already spoiler alert, this is yet another story in the Living Books lineup, DW is quite the picky eater she freaks out at cellophane wrapped fish, she won't eat Hawaiian Shrimp (which is Shrimp pulverized around with Pineapple...well that's how it looked on the TV episode) but this story mostly deals with her public food enemy number one: SPINACH...so much so that she throws a fit in a restaurant...why did she even order a salad in the first place, well long story short her parents forbid her from eating at restaurants with the family ever again, luckily for Arthur there's no Once Upon a Restaurant conflict in this one, however when Grandma Thora's birthday approaches DW wants to go but she has to eat everything on her plate she reluctantly agrees, she actually does manage to find something she would eat...and she turns red when she finds out what was in the Little Bo Beep Pot Pie (honey, Spinach is better when it's prepared a certain way, honestly I would rather eat spinach if it was in Ravioli with Cheese or if it was on Pizza....smoothies or juices? never even the cashier at booster juice admitted that the menu item Spinach is in it tastes terrible

Graphics: Things are radically different this time, the animation is about the same as Arthur's Computer adventure but this actually shares something with Arthur's Reading Race, Blue Text, but this was not released as one of those sticker type books though (I think I'll go more in depth about it when I get to Arthur's Reading Race)

Soundtrack: Okay I'm going to come right out and say it, DW sounds like one of the Peanuts in this story she sounds like Lucy a little bit, actually she kind of sounds like both Lucy and Sally, I have not played this game enough times to get a good listen to the soundtrack because well see below.

Addictive: I'm just sorry that I never got to play this as a child I didn't know it existed until I was an adult, I mean this could be a good book for kids to be convinced to try new things, even I started to like Soup when I was 17

Depth: We don't get the normal start screen this time around, this time we actually start in DW's room which is the start area. She can actually help you out if you haven't played before (but like I said I guess they wanted to end things with a Bang) Also I feel like they skipped several pages, they skipped the page where DW's Sandwich "fell" in the dirt, they skipped the part where DW is turned off by the Parsley on Spaghetti at Emily's house (you know, you could have asked for a different sauce, like I love Fettuccini Alfredo, I'll eat anything with Alfredo sauce) however several pages FROM the book were actually included in a special portrait, I mean I get they were trying to make some room for the activities and all that but I feel bad for the illustrator since not all of their work ended up in the game. We get a couple of mini games

Difficulty: Again it's a living books game however there are some games here that can be challenging but then again I'm not at the right age level but I feel like we could use most of these educational games more than ever, kids these days would rather play Minecraft (though one of the teachers did show the kids the classic muncher games before COVID reared it's ugly head on ClassicReload)

Post-Review Follow up: This was the VERY LAST game that was released by living books, former employees actually banded together to get the games away from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (because they are not doing ANYTHING with any of the Learning Company Properties) and they have since been released for mobile and IOS and current systems, but I haven't seen them, maybe they're on steam I don't know

This concludes my review join me tomorrow when I review Reader Reader Rabbit Preschool, now I have some shopping to do
