I have around a dozen physical copies of manga and Light Novels that I bought for collection or autograph purposes but it's been more than a decade since the last time I actually read a physical one. I only read manga digitally and only in the Kindle app on my Kindle device. I don't even bother using the Kindle app on my phone or reading PDF's of the manga.

There are three ways that I get copies.

A. I buy them straight from the Amazon/Kindle store.

B. I buy or download them from other stores like Humble Bundle, Google Play, publishers, etc, and then transfer the file.

C. I get the file loaded into the Kindle app from another person directly.

What about you?

I've always just read the Dragon Ball Super manga through Viz when a new chapter is released every month. That being said I do have a single chapter of Dragon Ball somewhere I haven't been able to find it in quite some time though. The chapter was at the start of when the show split into Dragon Ball Z which is pretty cool to see in the manga at least in my opinion, but that being said it was a gift so I have no idea how I actually got it.

SonicOlmstead : I really like the Viz subscription, when I first hear about it last year, my mind was blown because I thought $1.99 a month was a steal though Viz like 1% of the manga collection that I like so I didn't use them for long.

I've only ever actively sought out and read three manga - Dragon Ball Super, One Punch Man, and One Piece. Different methods for each:

  • One Piece and DBS I usually just looked for the first manga website I could find searching on google, or asked a friend for a website that they use. Of course these websites always go down every once in a while, so it's a constant hunt for another one.

  • One Punch Man I have a specific website bookmarked where I know high quality translators and typesetters are the ones uploading to. This one has never gone down over the years, I think because it's semi-private (i.e. can't find it on a search engine).

I don't have enough interest in manga in general to ever purchase anything regarding it. I barely even keep up with One Piece and OPM.
