This is speculation on my part since it has been 1 way too long since I have played Resident Evil 4 and 2 I can't find any concrete answers on Google, so it may have not been fully revealed.




My guess on why the island was blown up by Ada was to prevent the main enemies of the games from continuing on with their plans, which should not happen since Sadler was like the controlling person of said parasite, if I remember correctly. My other guess is to cover up what happened to prevent somebody else from trying to control the parasite. Just know that both of these are very likely to be incorrect, so take them with a grain of salt.

Besides those two things, I can't think of a reason why the island was blown up.
