As we have gone on as a society, we come up with many forms of story telling: books, movies, tv show, comics, video games, and audio books. Although that does spark the inevitable question, what medium is the best for conveying ideas?

Each medium has there own merits, if I were to judge them say as to which one is the most effective at conveying an idea to the mass public, the answer would have to be tv. Just look at how effective the propaganda machine was during ww2 in tv shows, cartoons, commercials, etc. No other medium has as wide a reach as tv.

My favorite medium for conveying ideas out of those is video games tho, it has the most interactivity and the way the stories in some more experimental games has impacted me is something the other mediums and incapable of. Very interesting topic my dude

Any video related format. Television, Cinema, YouTube.
These things, historically, have shown us mass manipulation and indoctrination. Complete control over countries and in recent years, the world can be subjugated to changing their view. We can see recent events in Eastern Europe has made everyone view certain countries more favourably, despite their dark history and present; whilst simultaneously condemning other countries for doing the exact same things in their history and present.

It's simply all a matter of how it's presented and television especially has mastered this art of "information sharing"

I honestly agree with the previous two posts. TV and Youtube videos are probably the two biggest ways people get information.

But when it comes to story telling in fiction, I am going between TV and video games, but I lean more towards video games as a bias.

Video games, when done well, can have a profound emotional and mental impact on the player based on the story's intention. problem is that games like these are few and far between.

It can depend on what type of media you are comfortable with looking at. Unless you are talking about what is the best media type on the Internet. The same answer then, but also, any sort of media type can be useful in its own way since all do provide some information. For example, an image is a picture that is displayed, or video is what goes on.

For me the answer is easily video games, I think you can get way more out of something by actively taking part in the progression of it than just watching it or reading it but I don't have the highest attention span so I think that factors a lot into my thought process on this. That being said I think a really good story can hold your attention regardless of the media it is presented though of course depending on the media some changes would obviously be made to fit the format better.

I would have to say TV. Just about every home in the USA has at least one TV in it. TV allows ideas to be reached to millions.

I would also have to say radio. Despite being around over 120 years radio is still popular for ideas and news reports. A lot of radio stations have their own shows and broadcasts. I would also put podcasts under digital radio because that is really what they are.

Books is another good way. Everyone has a story to tell. Sometimes people can get ideas from books. I might be a little biased toward books, because I am currently writing one right now.

Each medium has strengths and weaknesses but if I had to choose I'd say games. Games can range from text based systems to vns to full cinematic interactions. Its the most versatile medium and the direct interactions mean its more likely to stay in someone's mind though a close second would be music of any kind as it utilizes a persons reliance on patterns to stick with you.
Like how often have you had an experience in a game flash in your mind when doing something? how often would you be doing something and a song just pop in your head? the patterns and the interactivity are wired directly for our brains to memorize.
