What are your thoughts on the rumors of Nintendo dropping the price of the Switch worldwide? With the new OLED model coming out soon, there have been rumors for the last couple of weeks saying that Nintendo could drop the base price for new Switches to as low as $270.

That rumor was more solidified this week when Nintendo did officially drop the price for new consoles in Europe.

Thoughts?

I think it'd be great for Nintendo to lower the price of the base Switch it could convince some more people to pick one up if they haven't already but for me personally I have no plans to ever buy another switch unless something happens to mine which I'm normally pretty good at taking care of my consoles so I expect it to be fine for as long as I use it. Only thing I really want changed about the Switch personally is can we get some joycons that don't drift?

Well, if this side of the Atlantic is getting the drop then my chances of getting the Switch with my first salary are pretty much high. Not much time will have passed since the OLED is out and thus reviews might be scarce, but knowing the standard one is cheaper than ever it couldn't be more enticing.

And well, Nintendo definitely needs to do something because competition is very fierce. The "new" generation of Sony and Xbox will soon celebrate its first year and the Steam Deck is coming, so with the OLED alone they won't gain much ground. Apparently they'll bet everything on their AAA games, as always I'd dare to say, so yeah Nintendo being Nintendo 'till they die.

Boured : I doubt there's going to be scalping. All the scalpers will probably be going after the new OLED and leave the original and Lite alone. That's like scalpers choosing to scalp the PS4 instead of the PS5.
