I finished watching the anime series Kandagawa Jet Girls yesterday, I really like it and I recommend it. Kandagawa Jet Girls is a cross-media project consisting of a game for PS4 and PC and anime series. Obviously I'll focus on the anime series...I don't plan to get Kandagawa Jet Girls for PS4 unless it's really cheap, maybe. The main character is Rin Namiki, ''Rin Namiki's greatest ambition is to follow in her late mother's footsteps and compete in Kandagawa Jet Racing, where teams of girls on jet skis race while firing high-powered water guns to slow their competitors' jets (and blow off their clothing!).'' The series has a good (at least) story with moving moments and entertaining character interactions, the background music is great, it has funny moments and a good sense of humor (some funny moments are what we in Spanish call ''humor blanco'' or white humor and other funny moments involve fan service or suggestive/erotic content), and overall, I definitely recommend the series depending on your tastes and what you are looking for.
The fact that my 2 most recent threads about anime series are of 2 specific series focused on a specific sport is...a coincidence, I wanted to watch Kandagawa Jet Girls from beginning to end a while ago, and 3 months ago I used a piracy site to watch the first two episodes, but I couldn't watch more, why? I'll paraphrase myself here: ''My problems with the franchise so far are with Rin Namiki and the lack of English voices, I don't like her voice, she sounds very annoying at times, and also, when it comes to characterization (that should be the best word here) I'm not a big fan. Usually, I'm a fan of childish characters in fiction, heck, I really like Yuzuki Shijou and Chihiro Inoue (Blue Reflection) as characters, Minori and Hibari (Senran Kagura), Coo Franson (Dark Rose Valkyrie), and maybe Eleanor Ernest (Nights of Azure 2) are more examples of female characters with...childish tastes or tendencies, and even so, I really like them as characters, but Rin Namiki might be too much for me, I don't know, maybe I haven's seen of enough of the character and anime, but her high-pitched voice (which I don't like) combined with her childish tendencies and that ''I can't The Kandagawa Jet Girls franchise is similar to the Aokana franchise in the sense that both franchises are focused on a specific sport and also the fact that for the most part, the most important characters are female characters in both franchises, yes, both are of those franchises where most characters are female characters, especially in the case of Kandagawa Jet Girls, as I said, it's a coincidence that my 2 most recent anime threads are of similar series, it wasn't my intention, I wanted to watch Kandagawa Jet Girls for a long time and I just finished watching the series yesterday, but I also became interested in Aokana recently, so...yeah. I even tried to buy the series myself through Amazon, and I waited more than a month but in the end, I had to cancel the order and the payment was never processed...when I noticed some days ago that the series was finally available again, I had to get the series. It was worth it, the dub of Kandagawa Jet Girls is a little infamous and some people have said that the dub is bad or that it sounds like a parody, in my opinion, as someone who just finished watching the series using the dub, the dub isn't as bad as some people say it is, it's a good dub, a 7.5/10 or something like that, not the best English dub I've ever heard, far from it, but it's not a bad dub, I like it. Rin Namiki is voiced by Kira Vincent-Davis for example, and yes, at first, more or less, she might sound bad, you may even think that it's a miscast or something, but the more you watch the series the more you appreciate the voice of Rin Namiki in English. I can't deny that throughout the series the acting is kind of bad at times, as I said, it's a good dub, at best, that said...I'd rather take an English voice badly acted at times than a high pitched Japanese voice I can't stand, I hate Rin Namiki's voice in Japanese, it's the reason why I decided to watch the rest of the series later until I got the series physically in order to watch it in English, which i recently did, I have the series physically and it was worth the wait. If you ask me, both voices are flawed, but I definitely prefer Rin in English. There is more I could say, but I'll leave it at that. So, have you watched the series? Are you interested if you haven't watched the series?
