I was at Best Buy last week and I saw a mini steelbook for Monster Hunter World Iceborne and I bought it because it was like $2 and was a cool collectibles.

But what are these kinds of steelbooks even good for? It definitely won't fit a regular sized disc, it's about the same size of a PSP game.

There seems to be a bunch of the Monster Hunter ones on eBay and people are buying them but I can't find a purpose.

The only time I can think of seeing a small steelbook was back when Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon came out I remember that had a steelbook that I think was smaller than the normal sized ones but besides that I can't recall ever seeing a mini one and I also don't have any idea what the purpose of such a thing is.

Allysa8th : The one I bought didn't have a code for anything inside at all and I have no idea what the little slot was supposed to be for. In my case (get it) it would have been better if they didn't even have the little storage compartment there taking up space so you could put little things in there.
