We are rashing it up again, except this time it's in 5 states (Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, Tennessee, and Vermont), the graphics are about the same as the first game, which in my opinion is a good thing because, the graphics are kind of a downgrade in the third game but I'll get to that when I do review that game.
There isn't really a story in this game, but it's super addictive. They've added new characters to play against and added onto the backstories of the rashers that were in the OG game (the OGs being Ikira, Slater, Biff and Natasha, it seems that Helldog and Sergio are nowhere to be seen in regards to racers speaking to you) and oh while the first game only added one cut scene for whenever you advanced to the next level of the game, they added some kind of cut scenes there for if you win, finish, get busted by the cops, etc. Oh speaking of which we get new cops in this one (what happened to O'leary, Flynn, and O'Shea?).
I actually owned a Genesis over 20 years ago and I'm sorry that this was one of the games I didn't own, and didn't know it existed until I started playing with emulators over a decade ago (and didn't play for the first time until 2014, hey a decade ago you could only play GEN games if you had the plugin).
So I look forward to playing this again....as soon as I finish writing this review.
