Dragon Spirit gets my vote for best vertical shmup on NES

It's a shoot/bomb em' up like Xevious and Legendary Wings which is my personal favorite type of shmup. There's SO many modes and shooting strategies. You've got Pink Dragon Mode with the W shot, White Dragon Mode with the multiple W shot, Small Dragon Mode to help you get through tight spaces like level 5 and Small with the two invincible side dragons. And the Green Dragon Mode with the strongest flames. Such a pain through level 3 without Green. Plus, you've got speed and flame upgrades, earthquake shot AND auto earthquake and an invincibility item that has the courtesy to warn you that it's about to wear off. The game itself is a great even challenge with a story pretty decent for a shmup.

Can't think of a better vert shmup. I'd say Lifeforce obviously, but that's horizontal/vertical. Star Force is a great one that comes to mind. Great looking game. https://omegle.onl/ vshare
