Last night, Nintendo Switches were hit with an awesome new update, quite possibly one of the biggest so far because of three main additions.

The first one is obviously the changes to Nintendo Switch Online, but I won't talk about that here.

The change that I'm most excited for is the fact that you can now send screenshots directly to your phone with a QR scanner. I used to have so much trouble getting screenshots off my Switch when I wanted to share them or use them for a video or whatever.

First I would have to choose the 4 that I wanted and then I would have to share them directly from the Switch to either Twitter or Facebook. Then I would have to go to the site that I chose on my phone and download the 4 images before deleting them off of the site.

If I was using a lot of images, I would have to do this multiple times since you can only do 4 at a time. But now there's a better way because you can send up to 10 photos at a time directly to your phone.

It isn't exactly simple though, I couldn't get the 1st QR scanner to work so I had to manually enter the wifi password of my Switch to my phone, then scan the QR code. Then I had to click on each image to save to my phone. It was quite a few steps but it still took less than 2 minutes to transfer 10 photos to my phone, which was a massive time saver.

The other big change is the fact that you can now prioritize downloads. I used to have so much trouble when I was downloading multiple things at once or downloading updates/dlc/etc because half of the time I would have to wait until everything downloaded or I'd have to pause all the other downloads in order to download/access the one that I wanted to use.

Now you can change the order in which things download, so you can make sure that something you need downloaded gets downloaded 1st and the rest can download while you're using it, instead of the Switch playing roulette and deciding what downloads 1st.

This is indeed one big update. With that change in screenshots, now I'll be able to include them on my guides without having to use an external device to take them. Looks like it will take some time to get used to, but as long as you can batch transfer them like you stated then there's no problem.

Obviously these changes will be included in the new Switch model coming up in March, I'm expecting what more news can we receive until that date comes. If no major news come about that new model, maybe there's not even a need to wait for it after these updates.

EX Palen : I took like 30 screenshots for my 10,000 word Pokemon Sword review but in the end it was just so much work. The entire process for me just for getting 4 photos was.

1. Upload the photos from, Switch to Twitter.
2. Download the photos from Twitter to phone, then delete the photos from Twitter.
3. Upload the photos to discord so that I can get direct links to each photo so that they can be used here.
4. Email the links to myself so that I can access them on my computer and insert them into the post.

The entire process for putting just 4 screenshots into a review took me like 10 minutes so I ended up giving up entirely.

This update included Nintendo allowing Google to collect your data from the Eshop. You can turn it off in your profile menu, but you need to do so in both the Eshop and the new Nintendo Switch online menu, even if you don't subscribe to it.
