For this chapter, I went more into my younger self's writing style again, for some reason.

Chapter 8

“Hello?” Blinky greeted the emptiness in front of him.

“Hello!!” Greeny replied, rushing over from the window to greet them. He quickly shut the door after Blinky’s team followed each other in. He also closed the curtains.

“Wow, this place is niiiice,” Inky told Greeny, in awe.

“Thank you so much! Glad you could make it,” Greeny smiled. He gave them a tour of the house, and then he led them into the black office. He gestured for them to go in front of him. Once he closed the door, the introductions began. All eight of them said their names and fun facts about themselves, like where their favorite place was to go out to eat at. Blinky’s team gathered on the left side of the office and Greeny’s team on the right.

“Alright, Blinky! I see you have the plan with you. LET’S SEE IT AND HEAR IT!” Greeny yelled.

Blinky and Pinky rolled out their poster board, which was half blank, detailing their plan.

“First off do you all know who Pac-Man is?” Blinky asked his small audience.

“Ohhh yes!!” Bronze answered.

“Oh good,” Blinky smiled. “Our plan is to trick Pac-Man into thinking he is going to take on a new maze that will challenge him. But when he enters the maze through the tunnel it will only be a pitch black room with some food to keep him busy! While he is eating his tasty cherry we sneak up behind him and trap him!”

Silver, Bronze, and Violet jumped up and down and applauded Blinky. Greeny hesitantly followed suit. He waited for Blinky to continue. However, Blinky just floated there.

“I like it!” Violet responded.

“...Yeah! But…” Greeny struggled to find the words he wanted to say. “I say we need to think bigger, Blinky! HOW do we trap Pac-Man?”

“We do exactly what we’ve always done...” Pinky smiled, turning to Blinky. “Splitting off and surrounding him on all sides.”

“And with eight of us, it would be nearly impossible for Pac-Man to escape!” Inky realized.

Violet responded, “This is great! Will somebody write this--”

“I like it!” Greeny interrupted, unintentionally copying Violet’s earlier reaction. “Do you know of a place where we could set up this fake maze?”

“Want me to type this down?” Bronze suggested.
Violet whispered, “You can’t, remember?”

“Oh yeah, sorry…” Bronze replied.

“I don’t yet,” Blinky answered Greeny. “We don’t have fancy phones like everyone in Booming City does and like you do. We work on a low budget.”

Bronze’s jaw dropped. He wanted to respond, but he knew Greeny wouldn’t like that.

“That’s alright!” Greeny chuckled. “I-- my team would love to help you with that.”

Bronze nodded. “Yeah! We’re used to looking up places in Booming City to visit. I have all this technology right here we can use: this tablet, this laptop--”

“Yes! We can do that,” Violet interrupted. “How much money have you set aside for this?”

“Uhh…” Blinky thought out loud.

“About two dollars to buy some cherries,” Pinky answered for him. “That’s it. We were hoping to use an abandoned building. Blinky, you said you wanted to use a hallway as a tunnel, right?”

“Yep! We could borrow some paint and painting supplies from my dad. I’m sure he has all sorts of things we could use to make the maze look convincing at the start,” Blinky offered, facing Pinky then Greeny’s team.

“I got some!” Silver exclaimed. “I usually use them for art, but we can use them for the tunnel too if you want! I also have a bunch of paint rollers we can use for the floor!”

“Good idea, Silver!” Violet complimented him.

“Is that all you guys needed to know? That’s all we have planned at the moment,” Blinky wondered.
Clyde finally spoke. “I got a question. Where’s the bathroom?”

“It’s in our black and dark green bedroom on this floor. Here, I’ll show you,” Greeny smiled.

“Thanks so much!” Clyde replied. He followed Greeny.
In the office, Blinky rolled his eyes and smiled. He repeated his question.

“Greeny might say otherwise, but I think that’s it!” Violet answered. “Like I tried to ask earlier, is anyone going to write this down?”

“Well, I suppose Blinky and I should, since we have this mega-posterboard,” Pinky pointed out.

“Wouldn’t it be much easier and faster to type it?” Bronze asked, knowing the answer.

However, Violet told him, “It’s harder if we have to search for a document in the middle of your arsenal of documents about Pac-Man and this plan.”

“Awww that’s true,” Bronze sighed.

“We brought markers from our house that are sitting on this poster board, so it would be nice if we could write all this down,” Blinky told the others.

“Markers? I write real well with markers. I can write that down for you,” Silver offered.

“What are you discussing without me?” Greeny asked in an upset tone when he floated back in with Clyde a couple minutes later.

“We’re just writing down what we already discussed,” Violet smiled.

After Silver wrote down everything on the poster board, Blinky suggested they all go out to a restaurant in Booming City to celebrate the start of their collaboration. They went to Fresh Fries n Favorite Foods to enjoy some burgers and fries. They had a fun time with plenty of laughter. They joked about Clyde likely having to go to the bathroom again. Full and very happy, they split off to go back to their homes.
