This is something I started working on in like November but forgot about until today so here it is.

1: Interstellar

Not only was Interstellar my favorite movie of the decade but it's also my favorite of all time. I assume this was how people felt when Star Wars came out and seeing these crazy worlds and cool effects. The story and acting were really captivating and the journey of going through space and seeing all sorts of crazy planets that were designed in such a way that they could exist blew my mind. I also loved the soundtrack, I tbought it was one of Hans Zimmers best scores because it was unique, very emotional, and at times it was catchy as well.

2: Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Before 2018, the Mission: Impossible franchise was already one of my most favorite franchises of all time and then Fallout came out and upped the ante by a lot. I really liked all of the stunts that were pulled off, whether it was the HALO jump, flying a helicopter, running across rooftops, or the fights. They wers all insane to watch and they were all actually performed by Tom Cruise. Fallout also had a lot more on the line which made every action way more dramatic. I would also go as far as to say that this was one of Henry Cavills best performances.

3: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Take away the Mission: Impossible franchise and How to Train Your Dragon is my next most favorite franchise. The Hidden World was the first in the series that i saw and it quickly became the first and only movie that I've seen in theaters 4 times. I really love everything about this movie. The music for How to Train Your Dragon in general is legendary and a solid team was put together for the voice cast. I really enjoyed the story and emotion of the final film in the series and the comedy was really on point. My favorite part of the movie though was how adorable it was. DreamWorks really knows how to pull all the stops when it comes to character design and animating, and Toothless is a sign of that.

4: Edge of Tomorrow

Easily my 2nd most favorite Tom Cruise movie and the movie that got me into Emily Blunt. The two of them had great chemistry while acting and really knew how to make scenes work. The movie had a great and unique concept of resetting the day when you die and the director knew how to exploit that concept into an epic saga of aliens, conspiracy, love, and destruction. Plenty of classic Tom Cruise humor and like the other movies so far, the music was great. I also really loved how practical the movie was because Cruise and Blunt were actually wearing mecha suits that weighed a ton and they were both able to act in them, which takes guts.

5: Isle of Dogs

I'm not a big fan of Wes Anderson movies but when I saw the trailer for Isle of Dogs, I knew that I had to see it. It even ended up being the 1st movie I ever saw 3 times in theaters and I went alone each time. It had everything. Not only was the story very emotional but it was filled to the brim with Anderson's signature comedy. The look of the film was also amazing. It was all stop motion but it was crafted with millions of tiny pieces to make the environment look stunning. The music was fantastic, I was sad that it didn't win an Oscar. Lastly, the voice cast was insane. The ensemble featured Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and many more.

6: Blade Runner 2049

I didn't see the original and I had no intentions of seeing the sequel but when I got Moviepass after they started doing $10 months, I decided to see it before class one day and I loved everything about it. The acting was brilliant, the music was crazy, and I really liked the tone and visuals. I remember it being really slow at times and I didn't care because of how good it was. Plus it was the movie that got me into Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, and Ana de Armas.

7: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Everybody loves Robert Downey Jr because he's Iron Man but I will forever choose Sherlock Holmes over Tony Stark and I wasn't even a fan of Sherlock Holmes until 2011. Never saw a single movie or read any of the Sherlock Holmes books until this came out and I loved it so much. Not only was the movie great in itself but it also opened my eyes to so many creative people. For starters, this was the movie that turned me into a fan of both Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. This was also the first time I heard of Hans Zimmer and I fell in love with his work. Lastly this was the first Guy Ritchie directed film I ever saw and he became my favorite director. I loved the humor and the action, I loved the slow motion edits, I loved the old set pieces, I loved the music, and I loved Guy Ritchies style.

8: Inception

Inception is easily one of Christopher Nolan's best movies. The acting is amazing, I'd have to say it's the best performances of Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Tom Hardy. The three of them were great. The movie itself was super emotional and many of the moments inside the dreams just looked epic like the hallway scene and many of the scenes while driving on the 1st layer. The music was also very good, it's Hans Zimmer yet again and the song Mombasa is going to go down in history as one of the best movie songs ever IMO.

9: Baby Driver

When I first saw the trailer for Baby Driver, I didn't really care too much for it because there wasn't that big of a want for car and racing movies. Other than Fast and Furious, many racing movies were failures. But Baby Driver took it to a whole new level with all the stunts, the great acting especially by Jon Hamm, and an incredible soundtrack. The first couple times I saw Baby Driver, I still couldn't believe how in sync every note was with what was happening on screen. In one of the first songs, a police siren and a door opening along with other actions, are all in tune with the music. It was a masterpiece in terms of movie meeting music.

10: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Another Guy Ritchie masterpiece here. It takes the classic story of King Arthur and adds the classic Guy Ritchie flair with GoPro shots, fast panning camera movements, insane CGI animals and battles, intense music, and a very comedic tone. Most of the movie was fun and even the scenes that weren't great were helping to build up to another scene that was being worth it. I really don't get why so many people disliked this version of King Arthur because it had everything you'd really need from an action adventure flick.

11: Wonder Woman

I had a lot of Red flags going off when I first found out that there was going to be a Wonder Woman movie because of how bad pretty much all the DCU movies have been up until that point. Entertaining, sure, but not much else. But Wonder Woman was a nice change of scenery for DC. The story was pretty good and a lot more meaningful than most DC movies, the performances by both Gal Gadot and Chris Pine were great, and the set pieces were fantastic. Over the last couple years, DC has been really good at making movies really look like they are in the time period that they take place. Ever since I saw Wonder Woman, I 100 percent shipped Steve and Diana and can't wait for 1984, hoping that it's even better than the 1st but I doubt it will be able to pull that off because of how great this one was.

12: Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children

I didn't think I'd love Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children that much but I really did. It quickly became my favorite of all Tim Burton movies because I loved the sense of adventure. It wasn't all about being in the home but also visiting mountains, the bottom of the ocean, and other parts of the world, and these scenes were all done in the Tim Burton style which I thought was really cool. I also enjoyed the chemistry between many of the characters as well as the humor. I never thought that there was a dull moment throughout all though the ending of the movie ended up confusing me a lot but I didn't dwell on that too much.

13: Bad Times at the El Royale

I really believe that Bad Times at the El Royale is one of the most underrated movies of all time. It only has a 75 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes but I think it deserves at least a 95. It was one of the most disturbing, thrilling, suspenful, thought provoking movies that I've ever seen. There were lots of scenes that were slow or dragged on but they only added suspense because you could never tell if someone was safe or in danger or if something horrible waa going to happen until the last moment, but you felt every second of it. The acting was also pure magic, especially by Jon Hamm, Chris Hemsworth, and Cynthia Ervio. Between those three, the victory belonged to Hemsworth. I think it was the strongest performance of hos career and I was really disappointed that he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for his role.

14: Rouge One

Rouge One is by far my favorite of all the Star Wars movies for two reasons. First of all, I love Jyn. She is an amazing character for so many reasons, and Felicity Jones pulled off the performance perfectly. The other reason that I love Rouge One so much is because of that scene at the end, transporting the data on the ship because I believe it was amazing choreography and also quite thrilling. As for the movie itself, I loved the emotion. There were just so many great feelings between many of the characters, especially respect, friendship, and romance. Rouge One has so many great moments with some beautiful effects that make it really fun to watch.

15: Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

Once Upon A Time was one of my favorite movies of 2019 and is my favorite by Tarantino. The story was really slow for the first half hour or so but things really kick up with the 2nd and 3rd acts with lots of deep suspenseful moments. I loved the set pieces being as the movie takes place in the 60's and also in the Wild West and I loved Brad Pitts wardrobe, he looked amazing. In general, this was a very well thought out movie that brought together the stories and lives of many different people into one complex entanglement and I loved it for that.

16: Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse was a revolutionary film, both in terms of storytelling and animation. When you look at the animations, especially some of the battles, it's not physically possible to deny that the animation is super unique and in most cases, ahead of it's time as well. The movie is ingenious in many other ways too with its incredible soundtrack, emotional story, and it's use of classic Peter Parker humor times five. I'm pretty sure that by the end of the movie, most viewers were hoping that there would be many sequels that expand on the characters. I'm one of those people, this one film wasn't enough, we all crave more movies that are in this style.

17: The Dark Knight Rises

This is by far my favorite of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. I'm not the biggest fan of Christian Bale but I love Joseph Gordon Levitt and Anne Hathaway so I knew I had go see it. Plus from both a visual standpoint and a drama standpoint, I loved everything about the entire second half of the movie, everything from when Bane enters the football stadium was A+ for me. I also feel this is one of the best endings to a movie series, it closes the entire story so nicely. The only thing that I wasn't really a fan of was the music.

18: John Wick Chapter 3

This is definitely my 2nd most favorite pure action movie behind Mission: Impossible: Fallout. When I saw this in theaters, I haven't seen the first two so I basically went in blind and nothing could prepare me for how intense the action was and I loved it. From start to finish there was So much non stop action and the tone and use of colors and light was also really good. This was the first John Wick movie that I saw and I was So ready for all the future ones after seeing this. So far this is my favorite Keanu Reeves movie

18: Spider-Man: Far From Home

This is by far my favorite of all the MCU movies. I just loved how quickly the entire tone of the MCU changed with Far From Home. One minute the MCU is so dark, thrilling, and suspenseful, and the next, it's lighthearted and fun. When Marvel first announced that Far From Home would be the end of Phase 3 and not Endgame, I couldn't figure out why. But after seeing it, I realized that it was the perfect epilogue to everything that came before it. I loved the music, I loved many of the character interactions, I loved most of the humor, and I loved the ending because of how much it can change the future of both Spider-Man and the MCU.

19: Skyfall

This is without a doubt my favorite of all the James Bond movies, and I'm a pretty big Bond fan myself. There were so many things that I loved about Skyfall. The thing that I loved the most was the villain. His performance was just so good and he was consistently terrifying and creepy. This is also one of the few movies where I think the music is so good throughout the entire movie. Even when it comes to the Daniel Craig Bond movies, I think this one is miles ahead of the other 3. For me, Skyfall was so good that my expectations for Spectre were raised so high and I was disappointed. But that's also saying a lot becauss I thought Spectre was a lot better than Craig's first 2 Bond movies.

20: Prisoners

Prisoners was the first thriller/horror movie that I really liked. One thing that made the movie so special for me was that I went into it knowing very little. I saw the trailer once, never saw a review, and didn't know anything about the plot because I never looked it up and it was like 2 months between me seeing the trailer and seeing the movie. I went in blind and whatever expectations I had were blown away, so much so that whenever I see a movie blind, I compare to Prisoners to see how much my it passed my expectations. It's also my favorite Hugh Jackmon movie and I love Jake Gyllenhaal.
This is something I started working on in like November but forgot about until today so here it is.

1: Interstellar

Not only was Interstellar my favorite movie of the decade but it's also my favorite of all time. This list makes me realize how few movies I actually watch. I completely agree on Spider-Man though. Far From Home is far superior to Homecoming, but I can't quite put my finger on why.

Miss Peregrine was really odd and reminiscent of something from twenty years ago, and I think it did its job really well. Isn't there a book? The movie felt like it was trying to fit a lot in that it didn't have the time for, which is unfortunate.

Anyway, that's about all I have to comment on here. I just thought this deserved a reply since you put so much effort into it.

pennylessz : To me Homecoming felt more like just a full introduction to the MCU Spiderman, worldbuilding, characters, etc. It even felt like the movie itself was an excuse to put in other MCU stuff like the Avengers stuff moving north and Iron Man's involvement.

Far From Home was just Spiderman and just plot.
