For one of my assignments in my Creative Writing class in high school, I had to write a short story very quickly. I think the requirement was one minute. I was racking my brain trying to think of a creative storyline while writing really fast. It didn't turn out well!

I think this is a great activity to get people's brains thinking fast, and it will probably lead to some laughter.

Have you ever tried doing something like this? How'd it go? Feel free to share your results if you decide to do it now. I might later. XD

So I was walking down the street and saw a fancy looking gal. Look a tad stuck up and snotty but nonetheless she looked quite pretty. I came up to her and asked if she need some help crossing the street and she said “ew no thanks. I got my butler” and blew a whistle and out of nowhere her butler came flying out of the sky and swept her away. I never seen her again

So basically like this right? Quick, simple, pg rated made out of my mind story with easy vocabulary. It was alright I felt dumb rereading all that but just leave it be.

I was minding my own business when suddenly a basketball player came and dunked on my face. I was like, "Dude do I look like a basketball hoop?" And he said "yeah". So I was very offended. I later realized that there was a short hoop above me where I was standing. My, the places I wander when I'm staring down at my phone all the time.

I actually do that all the time in this site, except when I have to post as a mod+ instead of as a regular user like right now (mind that I write reviews and guides on a Word document as a draft so they're out of the equation).

Part of that is due to not being a natural English speaker. Whatever thread I decide to post in, I first come up with ideas in Spanish and quickly translate them to English in my head, and after a double check the post goes through.

I think I could achieve something like that on an assignment, but I'm not good at typing fast, even less writing fast lol. It would be fun to try out what can I do on a limited time after several years of taking my time to do things.

i don't normally enjoy things like this because i prefer to take my time, but i did enter a creative writing competition my school was hosting a couple of times. i don't remember what the exact time limit was, probably somewhere between 1 and 2 hours. we also had to build off of specific prompts. the first year i joined, i won 2nd prize, and next time i actually won 1st!

EX Palen : That's really cool! I think it's fascinating that people who are bilingual can think in both languages. I've heard it can be easier to think of certain things in one language because it doesn't always translate well to the other.

I'm good at typing fast, but when I write fast, it's very hard to read. XD
