First of all, I apologize if this is the wrong board for this. That said:

Whenever I try to play various games on RGR Plugin emulators, the screen sort of "raises" above the task bar above my browser window. Some emulators even have a tan "bar" at the top, which can obscure important in-game information, such as character health. Any way to fix it, or should I just use different RGR plugin required emulators to play games on this site? Or even just use non plugin required emulators (when possible)?

Here's some screenshots of the problem:

https://imgur.com/a/kN8y8ew (using ZSNES)

https://imgur.com/a/kMh7jt0 (using Visual Boy Advance. Also demonstrates the "can't see character health" issue mentioned above)

https://imgur.com/a/TgtdFdy (using FCEUX)

https://imgur.com/a/TgtdFdy (using Gens)

https://imgur.com/a/Ebp1upX (using Null DC. Admittedly, no tan "bar" on this one, I figured I should show this one anyway)

Johnny Eagle : Firstly, you need to replace the fourth link, the GENS one, as you accidentally reposted the NES screenshot instead.

And secondly, it looks like the game window is misaligned, it's too high. It definitely shouldn't be overlapping the browser's interface, which is why you're seeing that "tan bar".

What I don't know is how you can fix it. The problem definitely seems to be with the plugin, not the emulators. Even the DC one has the tan bar, it's just semi-transparent.

Have you tried RetroArch, which uses HTML5 instead of the plugin?

Johnny Eagle : The plugin is a product of it's time and uses Flash, at one time it was the best way to play them as it had great emulator support and even allowed you to use mednafen to record lossless video. However, with the eventual discontinuation of Flash, the plugin will need to be discontinued as well, or at least not as supported as it used to be. Retroarch on Vizzed is a pretty good way to play them.

Boured : I suppose. Just had save data for a lot of games on the RGR emulators.

Interesting note: since I posted this thread, I've gotten a newer computer, installed Flash, tried a couple of Game Boy Advance Games (including a Mega Man Battle Network ROM Hack), and there was no tan bar on those. I'll try the other emulators soon, but seeing as my old computer was running Windows 8.1, and my new one is running Windows 10, maybe that had something to do with it?

Johnny Eagle : Are you still using Firefox? Or did you switch to Edge when you replaced your PC? Because the browser instead of the operating system could've been the problem.

Digifiend : Using Firefox on the new one as well. Anyway, whatever the problem was on my old computer, it appears to be gone now on my new one

Johnny Eagle : Which is good - for the time being. But make sure automatic updates are turned off, or you'll be having an unhappy new year when the plugin stops working due to Flash being disabled - support ends on December 31, 2020, and all the major browsers will be updated to block Flash (except, perhaps, Internet Explorer, since that browser is obsolete itself, having been replaced by Microsoft Edge).
