To dismissively say "1% of people in the world have this disease" is terrible, imho. 1% of 8 billion is 80 million people. That's nothing to scoff at, or belittle. Meanwhile, just locally, three people in my local hospital are in the Critical Care Unit, one whom I personally KNOW. So considering how fast it's spreading, the US is closing most of it's restaurants, and bars...this isn't something simple, and the MAIN reason there is not a higher mortality rate is BECAUSE we are being more careful. Look at italy. They've had as many people die in one or so week, than the disease started in the first two weeks. We may never know if we were too careful, but if we aren't careful enough, TRUST me, we'll know for sure. That's my take on this whole thing.

In all seriousness since it’s 2 am... ahem. As of now here tho, 425 cases confirmed in the state, 11 in the county, I think all of them in town (since this is also an army base) and yet everyone here takes it as a joke or way too seriously. The ones who look at it as any other disease, we get scolded “disease is airborne” “don’t go out unless necessary” like yo we are millennials who have nothing better to do in our lives let us enjoy it. I’m more afraid of the mass hysteria than the disease itself
