I'm normally not a fan of Quentin Tarantino's stuff. I liked Pulp Fiction but didn't really like his other stuff, heck I couldn't even finish The Hateful 8 the first 2 times I tried to watch it.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is a different story, while it started off slow, it was full of suspense and lots of moments that make you forget that you're watching a movie and more like feeling you're actually there.

The acting from both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt was amazing, but the clear winner between the two is Pitt as his character Cliff Booth was miles ahead of everyone else. All the scenes that he was in were brilliant, especially the scene with Booth and Bruce Lee and the scenes involving the Charlie Mason family. Those scenes were thrilling and dramatic.

The story was also very good because while it was incredibly dark, it connected multiple stories of all their characters into one mega masterpiece.

If there's one thing that Tarantino knows how to do, it's create beautiful set pieces and props. The outfit that Brad Pitt wore was magnificent and the movie pretty much took place both in the 1960's and the 1800's at the same time and the work done on the environment and clothing really made it look like a historical piece.

There were lots of times where the movie was slow or felt like it was beginning to drag but these kinds of scenes really helped to magnify the impact of the dramatic and significant scenes. The movie was more than 2 hours long and I'd say there was only around 45 minutes worth of intense drama, compelling story, or thrilling dialogue, but it was all worth it.

I really enjoyed it. I saw it in theaters twice and even though I own the digital version, I plan on seeing it in theaters again now that it was re released. My overall grade for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is going to be 95 out of 100.

zanderlex : Nice review, zander! I absolutely LOVED this movie! Leo and Brad are absolutely a perfect pair together, and seemed so reminiscent of Robert Redford and Paul Newman in the 2 films they did together. When the movie was over I almost cried because I really felt like I was there in that setting that Tarantino created, and I didn't want to leave. Besides the entire ending of course, the absolute perfection was the scene where all the restaurant night lights come on while The Rolling Stones's "Out of Time" played. Just so creative in the mood and storytelling that was going on.

Please give Inglorious Bastards a chance if you haven't yet. That was my favorite Tarantino movie until this one came out

kramer4077 : I was in complete awe at the final fight and the scene at the ranch terrified me and I went to Comic Con as Cliff.

I'll probably watch it in theaters again tomorrow.
