There are a lot of Shonen Anime that have been around forever, and quite a few have ended to. As someone who has seen a ton, I have a lot of opinions. What I would define as a long running Shonen is something around at least 200 episodes. By this logic, I could choose Bleach, Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, or possibly Fairy Tail. I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I've seen.
It's a hard decision for me, but I ordered everything I watch in a list, and I put Dragon Ball on top. Now, I know that it has it's flaws, such as the horrible amounts of filler during the battle on Namek, but at the same time, it produced many memorable moments that I just can't get over. And let's not discount the decent pacing that the original Dragon Ball series had.
I could have picked One Piece, but it's really drawn out and just not that fun anymore unless you read the manga. Then Naruto, while arguably more emotional, is packed with filler and has a really ridiculous ending arc. So considering I don't enjoy Fairy Tail much, and I've never finished Bleach, Dragon Ball is the only actual contender on my list.

Do you know any other Shonen that can be defined as long running, and are any of them your favorite?

Dragon Ball is of course a favorite, though I don't like and never watched Super. It's history and impact stays intact, and that's what matters.

I also liked Naruto, though I stopped watching the anime because filler after filler after filler. I read the manga until it concluded, and I've stopped there. With Boruto they're complicating things too much.

Up until now, I've also had Yu-Gi-Oh! in very high standards. I've liked all the spin-offs, ones more than others, but the latest one gives me an odd vibe and it will still be until April for the first episode to come out and properly judge how it is.

Other long-running shonen I'm interested in are Detective Conan and Gundam. I watched only a few episodes of the first back in the day and I know the second because of videogames, but they both seem very interesting and extremely long running (Detective Conan is in episode 965 as of this post, and Gundam's first series aired in the early 70s).

Although I've only gotten around to binging it rather recently but I've definitely been really enjoying Dragon Ball so far and I'm gonna try and eventually binge more of it whenever I can. XD

Hmm...it has to be hard for me its either the orginal dbz not remastered not kai. Naruto or Yu Yu Hakusho which i dunno counts? btw screw db super. fite me

Without a doubt it's Dragon Ball for me it's not even close, and I mean the whole series not counting GT. Tho Super gets too much hate it's got better throughout the whole series and then gave the series the best movie it ever got.

I should have just titled this thread. "Which do you like more, Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball?" It would have had the same responses as the ones here.

Because of a certain sonic, I would've never even thought about responding to this thread. I used to not be on to watch these types of anime in the first place. But now I think I can solidly say Dragon Ball is my favorite.
