Is there some way to turn the sound off for games, so I can listen to other music or anything, or do I just have to mute my computer entirely?

Well, if I remember there is no sound control in most of the emulators (though I think one of the Nes ones had a mute option).
You can mute sounds on webpages in some browsers, that might help (but it might not, I havn't tested this).
For Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet options, Advanced tab, scroll down to the Multimedia section and uncheck "Play sounds in web pages".

I was wondering the same thing so thanks for the thread, its just some of the games get repeditive and annoying after awhile so muting them and listening to music at times is just more soothing, thanks for the topic-------->
