What is in store for the future of Poke'mon? We haven't seen pokemon around for awhile. We need it to continue. We need it on PSP, and maybe some of the other systems out. What do you think? I'm sorry but what are you talking about? Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out 2 days ago, and they have already announced the Gen V games are being made and will be for the ds. so its not like there havent been new games in a long time.

Yeah but what Im saying is, they need to make them on other platforms other then, nintendo. If they made games on PSP, playstation3, and xbox 360 with some good visuals, it would really bring a new outlet and new thing into the pokemon world

to be honest, I would rather is just stay on Nintendo platforms, like it always has been.

I personally would like to see some more versions of the Pokemon Colosseum storyline... cos it seems like a good storyline if you ask me... If they do create another game based on that, they should add in all the current pokemon and perhaps even the new Gen V

Yeah, keep it strictly Nintendo... it's not like they've done anything wrong to Pokemon that screams "I must be a third party game, look how terrible Nintendo's made me!" I mean, sure, some games aren't as good as others, but Nintendo has done well enough that it should really stay that way... that and Nintendo is NOT going to sell it to other companies as long as it makes this much money.

How about we move this in a new direction? Since the topic of the thread is the future of Pokemon, what do you guys think of cutting it off after Gen V? Do you think Nintendo should stop? Do you think they will, or will they continue milking it for all it's worth until people stop buying? I think they probably should stop, or at least shift gears and start focusing more on console RPG's with new stories like they did with Colosseum and XD. It's starting to get kind of stale. But of course, they won't. Nintendo's too stubborn and is not going to change or stop until Pokemon stops selling.

I think nintendo will continue to make new games as long as it sells. plus how many people probably bouth the ds to play pokemon, my guess is quite a few. but i do think they should put more thought into the legendaries, if they could put more thought into the games i have no problem with it going on and judging by the 2 pokemon from gen V i have seen they are going to try and do that.

Pokemon will never stop. At least, it's going to be a while until it does.

Well this is good, this is what I wanted to make a thread for, to create a discussion dealing with the primary focus of the poke'mon future. Well since you said that it shoudnt be sold on other platforms, well I think they should make a huge, RPG based Pokemon game for the Wii system, whats your opinion?

if done properly it could be cool, but that's a BIG if. but i don't see it happening i believe they said the closest to that they would do is battle revolution.

The future of Pokemon is not a bright one. They haven't come out with anything truly original since Gold/Silver/Crystal. All the newer Pokemon are basically just spinoffs of 1st and 2nd generation ones. They all suck, and they lack the character of the first two generations. The show, which I never really liked in the first place, has become unbearable, the good games stopped after Crystal, and I have nothing to say for the cards, other than they were never as big as the games, and with the addition of the crappy new Pokemon are going south just like everything else.

Well if they do a battle format, they should make online play incorporated into it, and have your poke'mon evolve as you gain exp...they gotta make something like this for all poke'mon gamers and fans to join up and compete, it just would bring a new aspect to it ya know

The closest we get to a mainstreme game on the consoles is Colosseum and XD. Sorry guys!

Well I think the development team should start giving more to what the customers are interested in if this is the case. Im sure people would enjoy a nice game produced for Wii like the gam boy ones with somre badazz to it. Make it RPG, online gameplay included, and have it similar to the old gameboy versions with some good graphics and visuals. That would put together a pretty kick ass pokemon game in my book...

i think a lot of what it is is that people have their "golden" memories and the new things don't compare to that memory. I don't think that the newer games are crap at all, while i will agree that not all pokemon today are as creative as they should be some older ones weren't either so its just opinion to me.

Your right the new ones will never compare, thats why the new gen, is gonna impact the youth who didnt encounter or grow up with the old pokemon that WE love....

You don't get what he ment, did you? He didn't say the older ones were better, he actually implied (as I spell it out) that they were WORSE.

no i am not saying they were better or worst. i am saying that it is what people grew up on and what started it. its like parents not liking their kid's music, its not that its bad its just not what they grew up on. i like the old games as well as the new ones but i am saying that people seem to remember what they grew up on (be it cartoons,movies,music,games,ect.) and they think that it was the best ever and that things are going downhill in today's versions of it.

EXACTLY, Mattman read the posts a little closer next time, Im not nick picking, but thats exactly what I was sayin after he said it, just agreed with him and added my input to it. But yeah thats the ideal concept but they need to do is give an old and new feel to the game and bring that out...
