does anyone remember blockbuster? it was a video store where you could go to rent movies years ago there used to be one in the city where I live but they have since closed up which to me is not surprising since a lot of people like myself no longer rent movies but instead watch them on u tube or nettflix as well as on blue ray and dvd,s however I read in one of my local newspapers today that there is still 2 blockbusters left the first one is in australia which will be closing it,s doors on march31 and the second one is in bend oregon which the owner plans to keep open making it the only blockbuster that will remain on the planet and according to the article I read it says that the computer system used in the store must be rebooted using floppy disks that only the general manager who is a solid member of gen x knows how to use.the dot-matrix printer broke,so employees write out membership cards by hand.and the store,s business transactions are backed up on a reel-to-reel tape that can,t be replaced because it was made by radio shack which went out of business yet none of that has kept the franchise which is located in an oregon strip mall from thriving as the advent of on-demand movie streaming laid waste all around it. the general manager sandi harding who has worked at the franchise for 15 years has received a lot of credit for keeping it alive well past it,s expiration date.the store was once one of five blockbusters owned by the same couple, ken and debbie tisher,in three central oregon towns.but by last year, the bend franchise was the last local blockbuster standing.

Blockbuster was pretty cool when I was a kid. I remember we used to get video games from there too. I could finally get my hands on Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2. It's no surprise to me that they're gone though. I watch Company Man on YouTube, he's pretty on top of things.
