So Mission: Impossible is my favorite movie series of all time and when Fallout came out last year, it was so good that nearly everyone said they would be happy if that was the final movie in the series. Lots of people even thought it was because it was an amazing way to close the series.

But then fast forward to January 14th. Just hours ago Tom Cruise himself announced that there will be at least 2 more movies in the series and that the release dates for those 2 have already been picked. 7 is coming out in the summer of 2021 and 8 is coming out in the summer of 2022.

It's crazy having the movies come out so soon after each other considering 4 came out in 2011, 5 game out in 2015, and 6 came out in 2018.

I don't understand how they continue to make so many movies in the same series, nor how they already know the approximate release dates for movies that far in advance.

I remember reading something similar about Avatar somewhere as well, that they already have like four or five new Avatat movies planned. Crazy.

tgags123 : Well if you think about it, they had a lot of time to work on the movies to make sure they were good instead of just putting something together for the sake of it. The 6 MI movies were released in a span of 22 years, so there's always new faces and new ways to put the movies in the current culture. Plus the 6 movies had some of the best directors and producers.

Not to mention the majority of the series was like James Bond in how the movies were rarely connected to each other. The first time a movie had a direct link to a previous one was when a 5 second scene from 4 was mentioned in 5. Then 6 was a direct sequel to 5. Different stories meant you could do whatever.

Plus the movies could easily go to their source material like that have done before. The movies are based on a 171 episode TV show so I'm sure they already have lots of ideas.

tgags123 : i know right i mean i liked mission impossible 1 2 and 3 but after that it got stale when tom and the gang says there gonna make more, i was watching the nostalgia critic on youtube and on one of his videos he says if it ante broke don't fix it.
its funny that i didn't know there was a mission impossible series until i was watching  myth busters.
